Re: Future releases [2]
I think its the sort of Star Wars story you'd be interested in, because it doesn't have to be the normal star wars epic. Of course, that relies on them actually having the same idea. Doesn't look all too promising.

I'm perfectly happy to see a Han Solo film, but they've gotta do him right.

Re: Future releases [2]
Will Amelia Clarke's character not be performing that role?

{{Hoping the line in the trailer - about knowing who he really is' is someone in the role of essentially popping his balloon of brag and bluster rather than building him up to legend status, which I agree Halfy is not Han's character as we meet him in A New Hope }}

Kept seeing posters for this on Twitter and I honestly thought it was a joke/parody of a movie.

Action-dad movie in mega-skyscraper? It's right up Johnson's alley, and fits the other movies he's been making recently.

I did like Matt Damon playing Jason Bourne. Vin Diesel I liked in Pitch Black, Riddick, but he sucked in The Last Witch Hunter I thought. For me its more the film. Like, Taylor Kitsch in "John Carter" or Chris Hemsworth in "Thor", Are there any hero's anymore ?

Jeremy Renner in Wind River is rather a hero.

Re: Future releases [2]
Looks kind of dumb I thought. Probably the 153th time this story has been made. Maybe the movie has more subtlety than the trailer?

Re: Future releases [2]
Eh.
Difficult to tell from this if the filmmakers understand what the story is really about, or if they just think it's about "censorship." The "I want to burn." line is kind of cringey, or at least the delivery is. I don't remember Montag ever coming across as a zealot in the book, more like a man doing his job and proud of his work who eventually starts to doubt everything he believed in.
And it looks like the mechanical hound has been replaced by a drone. No hound, not interested. Plus there's no way they'd be able to come close to having a soundtrack that would rival Bernard Herrmann's score.

Re: Future releases [2]
"I want to burn" is a stupid line. I also don't see that they are capturing the depth of what Bradbury was trying to say, but they may be trying to turn it towards his later interpretation that mass media has almost the same effect as book burning.
I have a bone to pick with one of the premises of Titan: that overpopulation will cause the world to become such a horrible place to live that an icy moon will be better. Populations may crash when resources are stretched, but not to zero. This planet will always be our home until an astronomical event gets us. We're too adaptable a species to die out as a matter of course.

{{ I think the burn line is just out of context in the trailer (I hope) rather than it being Montag zealotry I think its maybe him trying to convince his boss he is still a zealot for the job }}

{{Not entirely sure what either of these is aiming for, but they both share a similar idea it seems- take an iconic story and make a sequel where the kids of the original are now grown up- didn't exactly work with Peter Pan when they tried it, not sure it does here either }}

Re: Future releases [2]
Christopher Robin looks like an English version of the American "Ted" to me, going by that vid, Mary Poppins ? I give up really. A sweet crack at "Nanny McPhee" ? There were more Mary Poppins books than the one we all know, not that Ive read them. With all the millions of books on the book shelf cant film makers find ONE they could adapt ? give us something fresh ??

Re: Future releases [2]
The original Mary Poppins movie was an amalgam of the first 3 books, from what I understand. But there's no cast that can compare to the original, they shouldn't even try.
If Pooh has the right sense of humor I can see it possibly working, but magic needs to be captured with the young or old, not sure it works with the middle aged.

I was disappointed at how they portrayed such an oddly beautiful song. I feel it should have been on a sunny park bench, but instead they went gothic and dark with it.

Re: Future releases [2]
"feed the birds" is the one song I remember most. It had such an atmospheric, haunting quality. I think, for me, when the bass hits & "Mary" sings about saints & Apostles looking down you had to have something grand to bring it home, a Cathedral, it even sounded Cathedral-ish. I didn't think about a sunny park bench till you mentioned it Halfy & it would have worked but, maybe the director wanted to emphasis the poverty of the era ? Mary was sent afterall, to show them the other side of the coin & be happy for what you have.

Agree with azriel on this. Brilliant clip. Mind you if the film had shown Mary on a sunny park bench I would have liked that too, I'm sure.
