I liked it. Seemed especially made for imaginative children --- and big kids like me. Very Happy

tho... ... I have a horrible sad feeling Clara is leaving soon... and Pink seemed a bit of a bore this episode. Cramping her style a wee bit I'm afraid at the mo. Suspect

I agree about Danny Pink this week. he was a bit of a bore, if he keeps on like this I will go off him. Sad  Clara does not need reining in, he is acting like a soppy nanny. I thought the Tree Spirits were a bit Fangornish. Very Happy
If I had been given the opportunity to write a Who episode I would have liked it to have been like this one.

I think your Dr Who would be far far more Tolkieny, Mrs Figg. cheers

I'm beginnig to wonder if Episodes should be 60 minutes rather than 45. My only real uncertainty - a fairly minor one though - is that story lines can seem slightly rushed. When I re-watch I'll consider the idea further as I wonder if every Episode has been slightly truncated to fit the running time. Maybe more double episodes would help. Very Happy

I felt the same way about cramming in stories to fit the allotted time. I liked the idea of this one, but the enormity of the trees amplified how short this episode was. I agree that maybe an hour would be better ?

You should watch Ghost Light and The Curse of Fenric too then Orwell, I would recommend those form the McCoy era- but watch them in that order.

Rather nice fan made trailer for the series finale, spoilers if you have been avoiding everything about it as it contains footage from the next time trailer from last week-

12 vid I liked-

And I rather enjoyed this too, a trailer for the 50th in the style of the Guardians of the Galaxy trailer-

For me its been a great series with only a few weak links, but overall the standard has been very high and Capaldi as good as I had hoped he would be.

So, best guesses for Missy?

The Rani?
Romana?
The Master?
The Valeyard?
Susan?
K-9?
Dodo Chaplet?
A mentally unstable Clara Echo?
A random Scottish Alien?
Another Moffat Trolling with a overly convoluted very divisive Payoff?
Other?

I really havent a clue.
I would be intrigued if t were the Rani- some things seem to fit- experiments of some sort, past relationship with the Doctor hinted at being romantic. She has her own TARDIS which explain the Heaven stuff in some way. Plus she was meant as a reoccurring villian before it got axed.
A female Master would be kind of Moffat just to troll all the make the Doctor a woman people.

I dont think its the Valeyard, I really dont think Moffat is going there. To obscure I reckon for the more general audience, and to har to explain easily to them. I think in writing terms Moffat chucks in Valeyard occasionally the same ay RTD did Oncoming Storm, to give some dark mystery to the Doctor.

Susan would be an interesting one to say the least.

I hope its not Dodo.

And the Moffat making a divisive ending- well Im sure thats the one Figg will pick!

(Where has she got too anyway?)

I think The Rani is probably the most likely candidate-the dialogue and persona of Missy seems to fit (I'm basing this of the wiki mind).

I sincerely hope she isn't the Master (Really hope the Charles Dance rumours are true, I'm not very enamored of the idea of a female Doctor personally, and I don't particularly want to see the Master return this early) although I can already picture Figgs reaction to Moffat writing for a female master...

Although I can't really see The Valeyard cropping up in the TV series (like you said too complex, too niche, and Capaldi's dark enough) I'd certainly be intrigued to see it happen (and now is certainly creeping closer to an appropriate time 'Am I a Good Man?' imo)

Dodo was a joke (though it would be rather hillarious seeing the comments 'Who the hell was that?')

Susan would be plain odd, given I've recently listened to 'An Earthly Child'

I think it has to be someone we have met before in the series, otherwise they wouldn't have kept the reveal out of the review copies (like Hurt in NOTD) and I can't see even Moffat doing a cheap troll 'Ha fooled you it's actually Flirty previously unseen but long term associate number 4!'.

As long as it isn't River Song or Rose 'Bugger off already' Tyler

I think I'd pick the divisive ending as well, I guarantee half the fanbase will be disappointed, or just pretend to be coz they like arguing.

I've recently listened to 'An Earthly Child'- Malick

Ah going through the 8th Doctor adventures?
Thing is they are canon now, more or less, as Moffat included name checks to them in the 50th minisode.
But I doubt that would stop Moffat if he got the idea in his head (but if Susan were to return I'd rather they got Carol Anne Ford back in to play her again)

All we really know is she is the Doctors Granddaughter and when he stole the TARDIS and ran away he took her with him. We never found out if she went to the Academy, so not sure if she is a Time Lord or just Gallifreyean.
