For those who my have missed the call back- in Mummy on the Orient Express when the Doctor confesses GUS has tried to lure him there before he says "He has tried to entice me here before- free tickets, mysterious summons, he even phoned the TARDIS once."
That phone call was at the very, very end of series 5, right after Amy and Rory's wedding-

Excellent reactions Petty!

At the end of that last one however, there is included a short bit from the "Teens React" to Doctor Who off of the Fine Bros youtube channel.
I have sworn eternal enmity against the Fine Bros, and therefore I must protest on principle.

They are an unnecessary evil. In much the same way that, say, Michael Bay is able to make money off of Transformers by exploiting what better filmmakers have done before him, they exploit humanities lack of contextual knowledge by showing ignorant individuals things, or memes, that the viewer is generally aware of, but the individuals in their videos is not.
In other words, they churn out mass amounts of videos that contain nothing more than someone who is slightly less knowledgeable about some aspect of recent internet culture "reacting" to it in an exaggerated manner. (Of course, their reaction is tightly controlled and edited, so as to disallow any actual spontaneity).

In short, they are the reality TV of youtube videos.

I rate them even lower than the accursed mini-edited videos put out by entertainers on youtube. (These are the ones, if you've seen them, where multiple takes are condensed into a short video comprised of rapid cuts of a person's talking face. The idea is to remove any of the natural human pauses that a speaker will naturally have between sentences or thoughts while speaking in front of a camera. The result is a video that has dozens of mini-cuts in time. They will finish a sentence and *cut out 3 seconds* immediately start in on the next.)

Watching an hour's worth of such videos is the death of a thousand cuts... for your brain.
By the end of that period you are left sluggish, unimaginative, and dumb.

Edit:
In fact, the whole mass-production of content on youtube, which is a result of the money to be had in it, is really a terrible thing. It was one thing to have a lot of so-so videos uploaded by individuals, among which there occasionally shone out one particularly entertaining individual, but if we consider that there are actually production companies now that use Youtube as the outlet for their mass-produced work: well, it gives one the sense of soullessness in their efforts.
There are exceptions to this of course, as there is a lot of Youtube that has better quality work than ever before, but the ease with which content can be generated (as compared to the film or television industry) can be exploited so easily by money-snatching soulless little wankers like the "Fine Bros."

That is spooky- and a good actor, they could use him to play the 3rd with 12!

I seem to recall reading S.Pertwee is against taking on the role of the 3rd-it is his father's role and I guess it would be rather weird for him to copy his father's mannerisms (I'm not overly fond of 3 anyway). 3 is too similar to 12. I did see a few rumblings on the Big Finish forums a while back that they have some interesting things planned for 3 though...

I'd mostly agree with that!

A few things bothered me though
Spoiler:
, the episode did feel a bit fillerish (i.e kinda disconnected to the arc and no real consequences of the deaths) but other than that, great fun, well paced, great cinemtography and a killer speech for Capaldi (I loved how mad, and frankly rather scary his looked when he did that speech). 8/10 Following on from last weeks ep, I think Mathieson will become a fan fave writer...

And I am the only one who has a  feeling The Valeyard might be coming very soon?

I haven't seen Trial of the Valeyard or heard the BF audios about him so I'm basing this off the wiki, but all this stuff about the Doctor questioining his motives, becomer darker and more unstable (think about it Capaldi's Doctor wasn't meant to happen, in many ways it's a reboot of the character egineered by the timelords...what if the new regen cycle did something to him?) and the whole arc about Heaven and the afterlife...it just feels like it could be setting things up-the similarities between Colin Baker's darker, more abrasive take on the character have been noted by many, and The Valeyard was name checked in NOTD...hmm...

Now I want the Dr to face up with an alien who can speak for himself. I dont want the Dr to give me a recital about who, why & when. Im thinking this might happen when he meets up with Missy, which feels like he's bound to do. She can then speak for herself. But not for long, please ! I want more edge of my seat, creepy, " get outa there!" tension Very Happy

I have thought the last 3 episodes all pretty interesting. Though that has come across in the actual episode to different degrees.

I really liked this one too. Nod

Though I feel they're taking the assistant focus a little far. Does it always have to be so assistant focused? Must every assistant be "the most important person in the Universe"? Two episodes ago Clara saved the world, now she's playing the Doctor. I just think it a bit much. Shrugging
