Eldorion wrote:Yeah, they let slip that Arya dies when the ship she got on at the end of Season 4 sinks in the Narrow Sea. Kind of a big goof on the panelists part since us book readers have been keeping that secret for years.

Why do you have to ruin my fun, bungo?
What?? Fuck! I didn't finish the entire video! And I didn't know that part of the story. I still haven't finished AGOT!

“Game of Thrones” actor J.J. Murphy has died four days after shooting his first scenes for season five of the HBO series. He was 86.
The Northern Ireland native collapsed and died on Friday, Aug. 8, according to the Belfast Telegraph. Murphy was cast as Ser Denys Mallister, the oldest member of the Night’s Watch and commander of the Shadow Tower, and was reportedly due to film further scenes in the coming weeks.
“Game of Thrones” producers D.B. Weiss and David Benioff released the following statement in regards to Murphy’s passing: “We will not be recasting J.J. Murphy. He was a lovely man, and the best Denys Mallister we could have hoped for. And now his watch is ended.”

Comic Con casting announcements for season 5, for those who don't venture into the book thread.

At least there's one actor who doesn't hesitate in letting slip some hints about what's going to happen next season.

Let's just say, I in no way think he was cleared to let as much slip.

Also Brans storyline is apprently given a seasonlong break, according to Christian Naim, who plays Hodor, who will apparently be spending the year working on his DJ project "Rave of Thrones".
That sounds a bit much like a Michael Gambon interview answer though, so maybe it's best to wait and see.

Nice! Must have given the fans quite a few nerdgasms having GoT actors around.

Just thought I'd say your comments about the rewatching and enjoying the first series inspired me to go back and do the same.
And I'm really enjoying it too. After all the story alterations and additions of the fourth series, the way the first series stick to the books is just breath of fresh air. And... it's just really good on it's own merit. Doesn't get enough credit, really.
Think this might be one of my favourite moments of the whole series.

Sorry what now? Fans want Jon Snow to be the next king or something?

Re: Game of Thrones -- TV ONLY
At least you could call any Targaryan on the Iron Throne usurper. As they would be usurping the place of the rightful heir of Robert Baratheon, King of the Andals, Rhoynar and the First Men.

Re: Game of Thrones -- TV ONLY
Hold on... didnt the Andals conquer Westeros? Aren't the first men the rightful lords after coming to an agreement with its original inhabitants?
Re: Game of Thrones -- TV ONLY
Well, as far as I remember.
Before men arrived there were only giants and Children of the Forest in Westeros. Then the First Men arrived, fighting the Children until a peace was agreed after which the First Men followed the Childrens religion. The Andals arrived next conquring all of Westeros exept the North, which was ruled by the Starks who are of First Men blood. They did not uphold the First Mens agreement with the children. The Rhoynar arrived last as a refugee group from Essos, assimilating into the then independent Dorn. Their ruler marrying the then Prince of Dorn.
And then they were all collected under the Iron Throne by the Targaryans who were Valeryans, a fourth group of people.
I think George got a lot of inspiration from the History of Brittain in the buildup of this.

Yeah, I like that scene a lot as well Watched the episode where Melisandre meets Arya yesterday, and noticed something I didn't the first time (though I'm sure it's fairly obvious if you pay attention):
I love how this foreshadows Arya's time in Braavos

Re: Game of Thrones -- TV ONLY
Yeah.
The "We will meet again." has to refer to..
Also it's interesting that I don't think either of those scenes are in the books. So they do get some things right.
