Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
Based on the history of this thread, I know several people on this forum are watching the show but trying to avoid book spoilers. If you don't mind hearing about what happens in the books, then you should probably stick to this thread. It won't be necessary to use spoiler tags here because book readers already know what's going to happen, at least until the show surpasses the books. The other thread can be for people like Norc who want to experience everything in the show firsthand.

How far into the TV show are they in comparison to the books?

Last nights episode wasn't to bad. The previous 2 were a bit flat, kept waiting for something to happen but nothing happened.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
well I cant use the other thread because I havent read the books and I am not going to check on Wikipedia before every post, plus the tv show is so similar to the books I am not going to go and check on Wikipedia every time I post because I dont know what is a book spoiler and what is a tv show spoiler. So I will just post here in spoilers as per usual. cant we have a thread for people who just want to talk about Game of Thrones without messing about with spoilers.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
Can't we have a this thread renamed with 'book' at the end and another with 'tv' at the end so it is clear?
Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]

I dont watch GoT but this recent outbreak of conversation certainly makes it worth coming to the thread for.

No it isn't. Halfy started the first installment of this thread to discuss the book series, and the TV discussion just got lumped in here out of convenience. That's why I created a separate TV thread yesterday. The division reflected in the titles of the two threads, too: this one uses the title of the book series, the other one uses the title of the TV show.

It's okay, I get confused by plenty of stuff too (not that it always makes sense why I was confused when I look back).
Adding the tags does help distinguish the two threads though.

Glad I could be of help.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
Wait, when it says "book spoilers" does that mean we put everything from the books in spoilers? Or are we promising to spoil everything by spilling the beans from the books?
So in the 'TV Spoilers' thread we actually put book-related spoilers?
I'm so confused. I'm happier if I just do my SOP and ignore all rules, suggestions, etiquette, etc.
Can we have a thread for that?
I can't figure out what Figgs was so confused about because she just reads all the spoilers anyway....

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
Oh my fucking god.
For each of the two Hobbit movies, we had several threads in that forum with big all-caps "SPOILERS" warnings in the title. That was understood by everyone to mean that there were unmarked spoilers for the new movie within the thread (or at least, if anyone didn't understand, they didn't bring it up). And if you actually clicked on the TV thread and read the first post, you'd see this explained, just in case the phrase "TV ONLY" is still not clear enough.
