Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
That was a great scene, in both book and show, but Dinklage is just killing it (pun intended). I can't wait for next week's episode...

It means you shouldn't have clicked the clearly-marked spoilers!

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
Should we do like most sites and have separate threads for discussion by people trying to avoid book spoilers and people who have read ahead?
Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
That might make things easier.
I read spoilers now and then since there is no chance in hell that I have time to see the series or read the books.

While I know you don't mind spoilers Figg, I think it might be worthwhile staying away from this one.
Though up to you, of course.

Indeed. I so want to put this quote in my signature, but it's sooo spoilery.
- Spoiler:
- Folks don't last long in the GoT world. If you had to write an obituary for Oberyn what would it say?
Lived it. Loved it. Bye.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
I've pretty much spoiled a lot of the big things about Game of Thrones for myself, mostly because it's hard to avoid on the internet and partially because I don't really care. But that clip that Tin posted, I am partially intrigued. Wonder if the books would be worth a shot.

If you'd clicked the link you would have seen that it says so in the very first post of the new GOT thread.

They're pretty great. The fourth book was a massive disappointment to me but I finally gritted my teeth and plunged into book five and it's been a significant improvement, if not quite a return to the level of the first three. But while quality is a subjective matter, ASOIAF is unquestionably the most culturally significant high fantasy series currently going on, and I suspect it will be remembered alongside only a small handful of others as being very close to Tolkien's level unless the last few books completely shit the bed.
Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
yeah but you said use spoilers in the new thread so I am confused

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
I see your point on that, but because TV episodes are easier to watch than movies (or books) I didn't think we need separate threads for TV, no book spoilers, and TV, haven't seen the latest episode yet.
Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
erm I am getting frustrated now, can we make this simple cos its starting to irritate me. 2 threads. one for spoilers one for non spoilers, I dont know which either of these threads are for.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
This the book thread, which will have book talk only.... But with spoiler tags for those who haven't read as far yet, I guess.
The other is TV series, which will have TV spoilers only.
None is the "I just saw that latest episode and can say that A killed B without using spoilers" thread I suspect you are looking for?
But at least you can safely open all the spoiler tags in the TV thread now.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire [2]
To illustrate the problem: suppose you posted in the "spoilers are okay" thread because you've seen the newest episode, and then someone casually mentions that a couple of chapters later in the book, Tyrion is the victim of a murder-suicide by Sansa (no, this does not actually happen). There are different kinds of spoilers, but the most significant divide is between those who know where the show is going (roughly) because they've read the books, and those who do not.

I want a thread where I dont have to use these, I dont care about spoilers.
