I found Itaril just a bit strange, since it's Quenya (Idril)... but it went away in any case.

Shouldn't this be posted in the members review thread? Or does Pure Publications count as a professional news source?
Re: Critics review 'Desolation of Smaug' | POSSIBLE SPOILERS
Does this mean what I think it means?
Well time for Petty to earn his award then.

Hey Petty, The wife was just wondering about an hour ago if you were in the process. She is a smart and sensitive woman that one... She must have felt the crabbit levels fluctuating and spreading across the atlantic towards her...Take your time, have a few drinks... I can only hope this silly film had a similar effect upon you as it did to me.
It was far too ridiculous and silly to take seriously.

Unfortunately the papers have been down for some time, and Petty's AUJ review was not photoshopped or anything, but it'll definitely be worth a read.

Unfortunately, people are spooning this stuff up with a ladle and it has three times as many fresh as rotten reviews, so it has to be taken seriously on some levelMusic of the Ainur wrote: Hey Petty, The wife was just wondering about an hour ago if you were in the process. "Or does Pure Publications count as a professional news source?"- Eldo
They made me put it here. (Ill put the actual review on the members one however)
What's NoTP - Radaghast
Pure Publications have been alerted to a potential new customer and would like, for a small fee, to invite you here-
http://www.hobbitmovieforum.com/t97-the-news-of-the-pure?highlight=the+news+of+the+pure
As well as various Happy Birthday Threads where special editions may be found. Pure Publications hope you enjoy Your Paper and that you are susceptible to advertising and manipulated news coverage.
Music I am not surprised I've unnerved your wife (mind you have you see the effect I have on Mrs Figg? But I digress) as to the review well it will be up shortly and I hope you enjoy it, well maybe you will

Well in my many years of experience on earth I have noticed that the masses are for the most part Clueless. I have accepted that a long time ago. I can forgive them for they know not what they do. I find it harder to get my head around the JRR fans who also love the movies. I mean no criticism with this statement. I just can't grasp how those two things could possibly be compatible.
I would have bet the farm that the masses would love this crappy film.
However that doesn't mean that I have to take it seriously...
Because there is truth and then there is opinion and the masses can have their silly little opinions ... they are wrong of course but they can keep em' and may they serve them well , opinions are like assholes, every bodies got one.

Re: Critics review 'Desolation of Smaug' | POSSIBLE SPOILERS
Again I am not intending to insult anyone here or any where (Except perhaps the coven at newline)
I do not feel myself superior or wiser than any one else. I don't mean to seriously call any ones personal feelings or judgement in question or infer that they are wrong.
As far as what I said earlier about the good taste of "the masses".
There are many notable exceptions of course in regards to the masses and their judgement...
I don't mean to sound like I believe myself to be the ultimate judge of what is good or bad valid or trash...
I only have my own feeble mind and limited understanding to work with.
Ultimately I am happy that people are happy. Joy is a good thing as long as it isn't harming others.
I do understand your feelings of frustration and bewilderment and even Pain if that is what you feel involving
the popularity of this series of watered down and inferior presentations of the Brilliant and inspiring works of The Tolkien... After the first TH I was sick to my soul in angst and outrage over the reception and praise it received from people, even people who apparently love the book.
I have felt pain and confusion over that. I have attempted to grasp how it is possible and have never come to an explanation that really made sense to my sensibilities.
But this DoS is so blatantly Horrible on so many levels that I just can't feel that same pain anymore.
It has purged my ability to even take it seriously at all.
Sure, I still wish that it could have been a great film or even a decent one. I wish that someone would do it and the other tales the honor they deserve. I wish that the popular press and public would realize the depth of the degradation and the inferiority of the films to our beloved stories, the foolish warping and spoiling which has been perpetrated by the guilty and clueless originators of this tripe,
but how can I take this latest example of it seriously and not just ... blow a valve?

This all encompassing disclaimer sounds like something I would read on torn.

Why doesn't the stand-in Plinkett at least try to do the voice? How hard can it be?

Because Rich Evans plays "Fake Plinkett." He's not the same Plinkett from the reviews.

Seriously, the more clips of this movie, the less I want to see it. The dialogue is badly delivered and the music is awful.

"These movies are great."
Ugh.
This review pissed me off. These guys go on and on, then say, "don't misunderstand us, these are great films."
Here's to you, you pair of wankers
