Did a quick search to see if your concert had gotten any press attention and it looks like you got a full newspaper page article.   

It was even pre-show press.

the concert went great ^^ the sound was epic and yeah superb feels kinda strange being done with it all though... feels a bit empty but it was great fun also the conductor shook my hand because i was first row

Of course I read it.  Was interesting, I'm very impressed with the whole thing.

Wasn't all that impressive a find though, I just searched for "Tromsø Ungdomssymfoniorkester", but I'll take the accolades.

I know exactly what you mean on the emptiness. I finished my exam yesterday and don't really know what I'm supposed to be doing now.

Thats what a lot of artists say after a good large show. Thats the trouble with highs of any sort, you always have to come back down from them.    (Otherwise Id only ever have needed that one buckie when I was four and I'd still be drunk now)

So was it recorded? Even just sound?

it was filmed, but i don't think it'll be online. they always record every concert, but they seldom make it online. they use it when they have to write application for money (that's a terrible sentence but i just gave up)

So, did you have some more interesting viola parts in these pieces?

The director shook your hand in front of everyone? Yeah, I get how that's a great feeling.  

I did shake the directors hand when I was doing my stint at the Opera House, though that was back stage. I did become quite close with his second in command though, we're still friends on Facebook.  

Oh you just applied to schools. Which conservatories did you apply to? My brother went around to a whole bunch last year.

yes, in front of everybody that was kinda cool yeah, still not totally over it

i applied for the one here just to see if i got in and to have some options. i will also apply for toneheim, you probably know of it. though i have until 1th february on that

Actually, my brother went to Toneheim only just last year.

He's studying in Sweden now, but he did get a very good response to his audition in Trondheim.

I'm sure you'll do great.  

Though it is hard to compete against 30 and 40 year olds, I know.

Just do your best and try to have some fun with it as well.

Compete? No, it's more or less people my age...

Here in Oslo at "Musikkhøyskolen" people tend to go up year after year in the hope that they'll finally get in. Which makes it a bit harder for those who have just left Videregående.

Well, from what I've heard I would say you have a really good chance.


I think he really enjoyed it.    He was there studying jazz guitar though, not the classical line.

Just talked to my brother, and he's been applying to schools as well.

He had applied to Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim.

I said he should apply to Tromsø as well, as it would probably be a nice trip and it sounds like a nice place to live.  

Also it would be a bit of a shame, when you're going to so many places, if the place you would get in is Tromsø and you don't go.

He said he would. Though he might have just been humoring me.  

well, i only applied to see if i got in my main hope is toneheim or another folkehøgskole, i'm gonna apply lots of places. will look into that over christmas.

tromsø is a very good student-life-city. though it can be expensive to live here, mainly because-ah fuck english- boligmarkede e stappfult og det e alt for mange studenta i den her knøttlille byen.

Ja, jeg skjønner hva du mener. Så både positive og negative sider ved å studere i Tromsø. Det er vel slik med de fleste ting.  

Trondheim is a bit like that as well, I think about half the population is students.

What I meant was that if you are going to go to Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim for an audition, why not go to Tromsø as well. What if Tromsø ends up being the only place that accepts you.   

And you have said some nice things about Tromsø, so I thought I'd nudge him in the direction of at least giving it a go.
