i think the tempo actually is a bit fast... but the longer note should be erm.. hmm.. longer.

ok this is not meant to be beituful music, but it has the rythm and pace i think we should aim for.

Hah, the Beatles is a good example.

I think there's a video of them playing Japan where people suddenly weren't screaming (as much) and they could hear themselves for the first time in years. They stopped touring soon after that. That they performed as well as they did with no monitors, very basic equipment and not being able to hear themselves is testament to their talents I guess.

Sounds like a nice start. Do you intend to keep increasing the intensity?

As for what I could put on. I'll play bass, sure. Any other ideas? I'll have to think about it a bit.

I would like to put our own little spin on it, which is why I did the intro as I did.

See what you can come up with when you get some time. Let me know if you want anything in particular from my end. For now I will try and work on a c.2 minute version that will let people do various things to that can then be chopped about when it comes to putting the whole thing together.

Bluebottle - I think it would be good if we could have some kind of structure that first, gives everyone a chance to get some focus, but then try and build the pace and intensity at the end with as many of us layered in to the piece as possible!

btw, both the videos i posted has erros and is NOT what i will be playing.

for now the only thing was the rythm and pacing, but i'll get something and we'll see from there

Structuring it like the video Norc posted on the last page might not be a bad idea.

Might be a microphone on your phone then, Amarië.   Though not sure what kind of quality it will give you.

I think I was at 98bpm for what I have just done. I will try it a little slower next time, around 90bpm to see what that feels like.

I can also include the click track so you can hear the beat I as working to if it helps.

Be good just to hear you play something to get a sense of the feel of how you play and the instrument etc.

I did record something yesterday just for fun. Then I battled with skydrive, ran out of internet and went to bed. Do we have somewhere to put it? I have it stored in a public file on skydrive.

Well, there's the audacity file and a .wav file. This was recorded with me sitting on the sofa, squinting at the sheets and a head set microphone laying a bit away on a table. Hardly ideal, and the bits I haven't played before are... um... easy to spot.

That was really nice Amarïe.  

The more I hear from this project the more impressed I get.

Sound quality not bad at all either, considering the equipment.

Is it the cornetto you play? I used to play that, not anywhere near your proficiency though.

It's made for janitsjar band, so it's because it's meant for different instruments.

yeah, but last time i checked one played in the same toneart (gotta google that)

u played the blue(?) i think u played the stuff i ringed in blue, i could do the top sections too, but i think it was so cool with only you, so maybe we can switch or whatever, but i think you should have that solo  i'll do the obvious string part (underneath this image)

The highest notes may not turn out too well, but I can take it down a little bit if I can't make it.
