A great program. Bill Bailey's Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra. If you have an interest in music and enjoy Bill Bailey you can't go wrong with this. An hour long however.

Trailer for the upcoming film of the tv series The Inbetweeners (if youve never seen the tv show shame on you- go watch immediately and assuming you dont die laughing watch this afterwards). Not for minors, even the trailer has strong language and sexual refrences (quite a lot of those, in fact its mainly those).

Trailer for series 3 of Inbetweeners. Same disclaimer applies here as above (although does a show about teenagers, featuring teenagers count as adult?)

Excellent Korean horror film R-point. Heres the trailer for it where its hard to tell anything frankly, so you will have to trust me on this one- no one tells a good ghost story like the Asians and this, is a good ghost story.

I know this isn't very, Tyranty of me ,but I just saw the trailer for the new Disney Winnie the Pooh, fully prepared to be horrified by the 3D computer gimmickery of the thing. And I'll be damned if it doesn't look nigh on perfect! And the classic hand drawn style too. Well done Disney! (And I never thought I'd say that!).

Going back a few pages....I'm shocked, SHOCKED I tell you. Shocked

I can't believe this is the first time you've ever heard of Kraftwerk Petty. Gary Numan may have been the Godfather of Electronic Pop and Rock genres, but Kraftwerk are the best known of the German Electronica Forefathers. Can, Neu, and Tangerine Dream ushered Electronica and it's many variants into the world. Though British Prog Rock (Pink Floyd) and Glam (David Bowie) were the British Forefathers. It is the marriage of British and German Progressive acts that gave birth to the modern forms of Synthesizer Music, ironically enough as forged through mid-70's Punk (ironic because Punk was a response to, and repudiation of, Prog Rock).

Without them, Ultravox and Gary Numan wouldn't have been born. John Foxx himself (the original singer and co-creator-with Billy Currie--of Ultravox) remarked that punk was dead-ending, and that the vision of Ultravox in his mind was a "Cyber-hippie" sort of approach of blending Punk and Prog, Giorgio Moroder threw a disco backbeat into the mix. New Wave was the result. The rest of it--Goth/Industrial, Trance, Techno, Electro, House etc--as they say, is history.

I was never much of synth fan truth to tell- went form listening to punk to listening to metallica, megadeth. With a constant 60/70's background vibe of Beatlles, Floyd and the like throughout. The elctro pop and synth stuff and all that just sounded like my zx spectrum to me.

Electro Pop (an 80's term for sappy mainstream Techno [another 80's term]) is but one of many sub-genres of modern electronic music, which ranges from New Age to the extreme edge of Industrial (Nine Inch Nails, Rammstein, Marilyn Manson etc). Modern Electro is a mix of hard electronic sounds with House and Hip Hop beats.

Anyway, for Petty, some of my fave Industrial/EBM and Trance covers of Metallica:

Apoptygma Berzerk's version of Fade To Black:

Die Krupps' cover of Enter Sandman:

Die Krupps' cover of Battery:

Rammstein's cover of Master of Puppets:

Birmingham 6 --Seek and Destroy

Funker Vogt --Harvester of Sorrow

Razed In Black --Damage Inc

Physical Attraction (Filter Section Remix) --Creeping Death

Hellsau --Master of Puppets

I dare you call these "Electro-Pop" Odo. Razz

Chris63 forgot to post this Kraftwerk ditty (you should like it Petty, very Dr Whoish). Definitely Proto-Trance.

Spacelab

Gotta love those German (and British) Electronic pioneers. This one is from Tangerine Dream. Another Pre-Goa Psychedelic Trance track. You should like this one too Petty.

Stratosfear (original version)

Compares very favourably with pink Floyd's Welcome To the Machine.

I don't need the kiss but I'm happy to tell you.

First, find the URL of a youtube video. Like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93LJVlxzE_Q

Then you look above the post box. You will see a button that looks like this: The YouTube thread - Page 15 Film Click this button and copy/paste the URL of the youtube video into the text box that will appear, with this icon beside it: The YouTube thread - Page 15 Link.

If you prefer to code a post by hand then you can use the BBCode like this:

[youtube] and [/youtube]

Then end result should look like this:
