maybe I am the only dog loving person here, but I happend to know a lot about dogs, having spent an aweful lot of time with many different ones in a periode of under four years, and I wanted to make a thread which was all dog. Because I love dogs and I miss'em terribly. They are unfortunately a big part of my life, and I don't want to elaborate too much about that. But anyways. Here, share dog stories, dog news, dog thoughts, dog videos, dog pictures and so on.

Not that I have anything against your dogs, but Leopold and Ted look like mops with tongues. (Just kidding those sorts of dogs are my favourites- they always seem to be friendly hairy dogs- I think its so they can jump on you and cover you in dog hair)

What breed is Ellie Chris? Is she a cross?

I seem to remember bringing this up before on this forum, but dogs are the only animal that understands what is meant by the human pointing gesture. Monkeys and wolves do not. Dogs have been so strongly affected by the human breeding program that they can't be considered separately from humans. I think their faces are easier to read than even monkeys. It's quite remarkable really.

I love dogs madly because of their personalities, but don't think it's right to keep one on Manhattan. I could also do without the shedding hair, bad breath and drool (cats don't drool or have bad breath and don't have the urge to pee on anything that smells interesting: methinks some cross breeding is in order). More realistically, why can't we breed a dog that's fuzzy and cuddly but doesn't shed over everything you own?

I was gonna comment on how association with poodles may cast aspersions on my manliness; but had visions of blank stares, muffled laughter, and the innocent question with raised eyebrow: "manliness...?"

So I'll avoid all that and say "ah, yes...a poodle. Just the thing."

A few months ago I made the acquaintance of a Labradoodle named Otis (he belongs to someone who works at a place where I volunteer and Otis tags along) and I do actually have a soft spot for him, even though he jumps on me every time I walk in.

the jumping on is a positive attribute. humans are far too restrained to be lovable at times.

I'm just a little intimidated by largish dogs sometimes, especially ones that jump, but I know Otis well enough now that it doesn't really bother me anymore.

She's cross all the time, even crosser whens she's not fed on time

Think it has a bit of Jackrussell in it, not sure thou. Was rescued from a bunch of aboe's who were abusing it.
Still has a scare on her head from a rock they threw at it.
She was mated with a shitsue, so Ted is a Jack shit.

keeping the dog thread alive. He's currently very busy studying the neughbours kitten. I dunno if he understand what kind of animal it is. If it's a small dog (that case he wants to fight it, espesially if it's male) a puppy (in that case he'd like to avoid the smaller ones cus they have sharp teeth, but play if it's older) or a rabbit (then he'd like to lick it, not in a hungry way, but as if it was a female dog...) .. he's never had an encounter with a kitten before. Most cat's run away before he can say hello, although he met a cat once who thought it was a dog. Leopold was rather puzzled.
