Re: The 2013 Forumshire Awards
maybe i could be a Bree ambassador.. i do come from therePettytyrant101 wrote:Well we do have a Best Nose category- but thats by Royal Prerogative and Tradition (very important to your Royalty tradition).
I would be in favour of a new Best GIF category- or at least best giffer (is that a word?) as picking a single gif ut the hundreds posted would be impossible.
How about a Best Ambassador category? That would have Amarie, leelee, Odo (Little Forumshire) and someone else representing the Bree contingency.
We also need to decide Creative Corner categories.
And do we include stories that are not yet complete suck as Kafria's or Lances?
also, i think when nominating a story (series, novel (!) and short story) we should say something about each of them, a paragraph or two about why it is being nominated and what it is about.
Re: The 2013 Forumshire Awards
maybe we could have the award for best breelander and then make the winner ambassadorMrs Figg wrote:so thats,
Lance, Sinister, Norc, Forest, Malick, Rodney, Azriel, The Truth and me.? cant remember if Bungo was a breelander
Re: The 2013 Forumshire Awards
such as my benedict? or is that a bit different?Pettytyrant101 wrote:Your first NotP mention Bungo. Thats how you know you've arrived. (one thing though, and this goes for everyone who wasnt about for previous awards, its good to have an avatar that can be used in pics, avatars which are covered in writing or abstract are not so good for the red carpet. You dont need to keep the same avatar forever, just long enough for people to associate it with you and that can be basically photoshopped into other pictures- this not only means you can cut a dash on the red carpet but it also means you are much more likely to turn up in the pages of the NotP)
Re: The 2013 Forumshire Awards
i vote for this! but we need some more fjordian to translate, have a translate-off between the keenest or somethinghalfwise wrote:TNotP! Outstanding issue.
As for categories, don't know if we have enough options for Best Fjordlandian Translation yet, but I'm thinking it may build up. If I recall Orwell started the trend a while back.
and Ringo, i am sure you'll win something soon didn't u win best man one year or..?
btw.. who won most awards last year?
Re: The 2013 Forumshire Awards
If we have a best newbie award, why not a best oldie award? Oldie being someone here for two years? THat's a lot of people I guess, but gets more people nominated! So long as we keep best nose, I'll be sure to supply the Buckie for the after party
We could also do best signature!!! There are some pretty damn good ones that are really clever or just hilarious

such as my benedict? or is that a bit different?- Norc
Its fine Norc, Ringdrotten uses Jeremy Brett- so long as its associated with you, although you might want to go for something more um, feminine, for the red carpet pics.
A best breelander and making them ambassador is good idea but it would also cross over withth ebest newcomer category. Not sure if people thin thats a problem or not? What do you think?
"why not a best oldie award?"- Tin
We could have a sort of Fellowship Award for Long Standing Service.

Re: The 2013 Forumshire Awards
Sinister makes sense as Bree-land ambassador since he's the only active mod over there, in addition to being active here, but that's for the Bree-landers to decide.
And Ringo had better win an award this year! Especially Best Male, which I know I'm voting for him in.

Re: The 2013 Forumshire Awards
Last year you had some model with a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally low cut dress who was posing with Benedict, in order to fit the fancy dress theme. Although with your artistic skills you could always draw your own avatar instead of relying on photoshop.Norc wrote:such as my benedict? or is that a bit different?
Pretty sure it was Petty, followed by you, followed by a tie between myself and Thorin (the latter only being in the Movie Awards, of course).Norc wrote:btw.. who won most awards last year?
Re: The 2013 Forumshire Awards
Last year we had a Best Unfinished Tale category, which I thought was good, although hopefully our authors can make a push for the finish line before voting opens in mid-to-late-December. And I might even try to get something posted myself (might).Pettytyrant101 wrote:We also need to decide Creative Corner categories.

I like this idea, especially since some of the stories are close to a year old now.Norc wrote:also, i think when nominating a story (series, novel (!) and short story) we should say something about each of them, a paragraph or two about why it is being nominated and what it is about.

Re: The 2013 Forumshire Awards
Ooh, interesting! You should draw up a list of prospective nominees. And while we're suggesting categories, I like Cutest Couple, although with CC's flightiness I think we're down to only two Forumshire couples now. :PBut we could potentially have:Norc wrote:also, most memorable forumshire moment
Petty and Figg
Eldo and Nora
Lance and CC
Orwell and Kafria (albeit only in Orwell's mind )
Edit: Pretty and Mirabella too, if we're counting them
That could be a lot of fun. :)And speaking of the Newcomers Award, I'll draw up a list of all the people who are eligible this year (to be updated with anyone who joins in the next month or so).Tinuviel wrote:If we have a best newbie award, why not a best oldie award? I'm pretty sure I'm frustrating myself more than anyone else with my inability to write recently. But the CC awards might be the fire under my ass I need. (Might.)Amarië wrote:I nominate Eldo for Biggest Tease.

That would be very handy.
And if anyone wants the task of finding out all the creative corner stories that qualify since the start of the year that would be very handy too.

ok but naaah... or well... we'll see, i found some ben+lady avatars for last years award we'll see what's wrong with a bit of cross dressing anyway.. my profiles says i am a boy (just because yolo)Pettytyrant101 wrote:such as my benedict? or is that a bit different?- Norc

i don't think it would cross though, we have newcomers from torn and other places, the "best breelander" is just to figure out who will represent Bree among the ambassador award-nominees.
A best breelander and making them ambassador is good idea but it would also cross over withth ebest newcomer category. Not sure if people thin thats a problem or not? What do you think?
sounds appropriate, but how many are we talking about? those from the early start?

Re: The 2013 Forumshire Awards
Most memorable NotP edition - The Life and Times of Odo would grab that one easily
