Context? I could use a good story to take my mind off of things after catching up on depressing news just now.
Re: Things that are making you crabbit! [4]
I will fill in the details later Eldo.

Re: Things that are making you crabbit! [4]
There's a line? Damn it that explains quite a lot.
Well if there was a line I did not see it, and rather typically thought that particular post was relatively inoffensive and not too crabbit and nothing to worry about.
But I was responding to a poster with a rather particular style of posting, and with some wryness thought to respond in similar style but altering the meaning. As I had taken some crabbit offence at their implication that anyone who disliked the films did so only because they expected to dislike them.
However it turns out mimicking this posters style is in breach of their terms and conditions, and makes the poster uncomfortable and upsets the forum regulars, all at once. So they had to remove it for the good of all.
I have to give them one thing however- its the weirdest reason yet for removing one of my posts.

Ah, that explains a lot. By barroom rules as I learned them, that might be called "mocking" or "f***ing with me" and might justify a friendly punch in the nose
If you're up for another experiment, I'd be curious how TORn responds to patronizing posts. That would be a poke-in-the-nose here too

Re: Things that are making you crabbit! [4]
U know what really makes me crabbit? Selfish dog-owners! I was walking Leo and like every male dog he hates other male dogs. Leopold is a big dog, strong, and the fact that little me is able to walk him is kinda unbelievable. He wears a head piece like horses have because that reduses his strength and i can handle him pretty easily, even if he starts pulling and growling at the other dog, mind you Leo is almost 40 kg, i am barely heavier than him. So when i meet other dogs, male ones especially, i reign him in holding him by the head piece, quite similar as to how you would hold a horse by the head. This way i have good control, his range is the length of my arm. So when i then meet another dog-owner with a male dog, a much smaller one at that, who's is (as Leopold) a bit too eager to meet us and he is not at all pulling him in, that pisses me off. Like he can see me from a long way away, he can see my dog is huge and if he used his braincell he would understand why i stopped, made him sit and hold my dog on an extremely short leash. To avoid provoking both dogs more than nescesarry when one is forced to actually pass each other. Now the other dog is practically sprinting towards us, pulling hard! Now the owner makes no effort to pull it in, the dog passes Leopold with noses cm away and ofcourse both dogs are growling etc. Like as if it is ONLY my fucking responsibility to keep my dog under control!! FUCK that guy! I have a huge dog, and having a smaller male dog pass him barely touching could very well lead to Leopold being so provoked that i would klode control and they'd end up in a fight together. And tiny me has no chance in hell to break then apart, at least without being bitten myself. Now this migt seem extreme but it is actually the nature of non-neutrerd male dogs. it makes me so fucking pissed off!! Dog owners have a responsibility because at the end of the day we have a pretty dangerous animal as a pet. Even though thdog is the cutest thing ever, we have to remember this! In regards to kids, other dogs and people who are afraid of dogs! I don't care if ur dog is nice, send out a polite message to people when u walk it that u see them and reign ur dog in!

Either my internet is still playing up or you were so crabbit about this Norc you posted it 3 times!
I got another post pulled on TorN - although at least they also pulled the sarcastically toned post I was replying too.

Proper crabbit deserves a triple post And I couldn't agree more, Norc - Dog owners have a responsibility because at the end of the day we have a pretty dangerous animal as a pet. Even though thdog is the cutest thing ever, we have to remember this! In regards to kids, other dogs and people who are afraid of dogs! I don't care if ur dog is nice, send out a polite message to people when u walk it that u see them and reign ur dog in! - very well put.

I agree with Norc, & something else that gets me is, stupid fuckwits that have their dogs on those long elastic type leads, that you can either let the dog wander off for miles then SNAP him back or you can keep very short. Well, guess who gets knotted up in the 'wander off for miles' department ? fooking ME. You get silly half arsed grins from dippy doo brained idiots as they try unsuccessfully reign in muttly who's having the time of his life sniffing trees that have been peed up from other muttleys ! Im acting like Catherine Zeta Jones from 'Entrapment', as I actually bloody am !, & do you get an apology ?? eh ? no ! But 'Wuffles' gets a cuddle doesnt he.

Re: Things that are making you crabbit! [4]
She sure dam as hell has. Something else I dont like is...when stupids have a medium to large dog, put it on a very short lead & yank the dog back literally every few seconds ! Look at the dogs face, they look upset. Fuckwit humans cant seem to understand that guess what ? you'll never believe it, I was surprised as well but,... dogs have four legs !!! And they have to cram in 4 legs to our 2 legs. We are supposed to love our dogs so why dont people think ? I think you should submit a written test, from either the breeder or a vet or some organization that you know how to look after your pet & that you have some fooking gumption !!

Yup all do owners should have to run with their dogs- that would at least be entertaining.
I dont think I could be a dog owner, I see them walking by, dog on a lead in one hand, bag full of dog shit in the other.
At least cats have the decency to shit out of the way and then bury it in the neighbours flower bed

Re: Things that are making you crabbit! [4]
yeah, bad internet connection made me post it three times and not being able to correct "klode" to "lose"
those long elastic-plastic leashes are stupid shit. no really, why the hell were they even made?! i tried walking Leopold with it once or twice, and it SUCKS! because you have absolutely NO FUCKING CONTROL! yes, your dog can wander off and have a pretty good range, but when u for whatever reason need to pull it in IT IS FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE!!! the brakes are shit to begin with, but if you wanna reign your dog in you have to let go of the brakes, move your arm forward, pull in 45 cm of string and repeat! it's crazy! and if you're dog is pulling on the leash, forget it. impossible! and you can forget actually physically touching the leash with your hands and pull it in BECAUSE YOU WILL END UP WITH FUCKING BURN-MARKS!
ok, so it's cute enough when little poodles and shit walk in this leashes, but medium/large sized hunting dogs?! i know i guy who has two male dogs on this kind of leash! he takes up all of the pavement and omfg!
i kinda agree with you Az on the actual walking of the dog, pulling hard on a leash can cause damage to the neck, especially young dogs/puppies because all the bones and joins are a bit mis-matched. But sometimes one has to be firm, it took us six years to stop leopold from suddenly running across our feet to pee on a very spesific bush (G.W. Bush ) but yeah. i mostly agree, because a lot of dog owners expect their medium to large dogs to actually walk in their tempo. now, a dog's natural pace all depends on the length of their legs. If you look at wolves, you will see them jogging whenever they're going somewhere. i repeat. jogging. this is an effective way for a dog to move as it isn't very tiring and they get places very fast. When people want to walk they walk. now, from now on i want you all to study the feet, frequency and the length of the steps the dog takes. Smaller dogs will always be jogging by the owners side, just to keep up with the human-walking. this is not a problem for them, so don't feel sorry for them. they are quite happy keeping to their natural pace. Larger dog, and especially the largest ones, are forced to walk in human speed. their natural pace is (just like ever dog) to jog. But because they have longer legs, their stride is longer, it doesn't look so frantic (aka. more natural) and their pace is a lot quicker, a lot quicker than the human walk. so if you have a large dog and want it to walk nice on a leash, you have to stop it from walking the way it feels natural. this is not necessarily such a bad thing as it may sound like, but a thing to remember. Big dogs struggle, smaller dogs aren't bothered with. also, it is a pretty good argument for running with your dog or letting your dog run some times (plural) during the week. because how would you feel if you were forced to move around in the speed of a snail, like your old granny on her way to the bathroom?
and Petty, if picking up dog-shit (which is really easy and problem-free if your dog has a normal poop-day) makes you crabbit, think about stepping into a dog shit..

Re: Things that are making you crabbit! [4]
Here in NYC the small kitty-kat sized dogs called yorkies are popular. I love Norc's point that the trot is the normal pace for a dog, so small dogs are happy to trot at human walking speed.
but there's a flip side: these dogs are so small that a human doesn't have to do anything to control them, so in many cases the human walks along totally oblivious to the dog stopping to sniff, then being jerked caterwampus off their feet as the human continues blithely on their way. the dog regains footing and goes shimmering along until something else sniffable pops up, only to be yanked ass over teacup again as the human keeps yapping on the cellphone, completely oblivious.
and then there's the time where the dog just doesn't want to move and plants butt. Once again the human continues placidly on, while the dog gets dragged along behind, feet splayed against the ground, ass dragging like an anchor until friction gets a bit too hot and the dog pops up with a squeak and scuttles along to loosen the leash.
Poor little things are treated more like an ornament or party balloon than a dog sometimes.

Agreed Halfy, poor little toasted arses ! Speaking of ornaments, here, the fashion is to have Siberian Huskies or Malamutes, by people living in 2bed flats. Not a good mix, these dogs like to work or at least be active.

Re: Things that are making you crabbit! [4]
yes, i have seen those kinda thoughtless dog owners too, poor little doggies. they forget that they have a dog... and that dogs have certain needs like smelling each other's piss at least when you have a big dog and like have to be aware of what your dog is doing, at least you feel like some sort of team.. and that's kind of cool. you're not just walking a dog, you're spending time with your friend
omg.. it is fashion to have a huge husky/malamute?? that's stupid! they're arctic dogs aka. don't function in like warm weather and they are working dogs! they need exercise, mental and physical! or else they go apeshit ! at least don't complain that your husky ate the sofa if you live in a two-bedroom apartment on the sixth floor with no park or outside areas for it to run and roam and you only cram in two 20-minutes walks a day because you have a job from 8-4 and whatnot..

Nobody has had a fight with me in ages, no one has called me out or even got cross with me lately. I miss Figg.

Actually I just checked and you're right, she hasn't been around for two weeks! What's up with that? Has she moved to her grad school place? She didn't tell us?

Well she did say she was leaving- I just rather hoped it was temporary and she would be back in Forumshire sooner rather than later.
If you missed her departure Halfy it stared here- and the disagreement listed a few pages before she announced her departure over it-
