I saw the pictures you posted on facebook Eldo- and one question does spring to mind- how the buggery did you manage to do that? What were you doing trying to claw your way through a fence?

And I am shocked by the appalling medical treatment in the US- all that pain and they never even gave you a single buckie. Disgraceful! What kind of medical practise is that? And they expect you to pay them for it.

I'm not entirely sure myself. I have some unsanded and unpainted wood in my room from a stalled home improvement project, so all I can figure out is that my fingertip glanced off the edge of a 2x4 at just the precise angle for the splinter to go in there. But it didn't cause any bleeding or leave any mark on the skin aside from the nail bed, so it must have been really precise. I actually thought the nail had split at first until I looked at it in better light and could tell that the discoloration was from something underneath the nail.

How the buggery do I change the spellcheck for when Im on the net? My pc is set to UK English but on here the spell check keeps trying to steal all my 'u's and replace my 's' with z's. Its driving me to drink (well ok I was parked at the bar already    but still!)

There should be a language option in the settings for your browser.  I had to use the "search settings" tool in Chrome but it's in there. I'd imagine Firefox is the same way.

God, I hate my phone. For some reason just the reduce volume button has stopped working. So now I either have to listen to too loud music, or turn the whole thing off and on again to reduce it to the default volume setting. #nokia

I like Nokia, Ive not had any problems with them, very user friendly
Had problems with others like, Siemens, Ericsson, By then I end up throwing them at a good hard sturdy brick wall

This is just one of many reasons why I am the only person left in the western world who does not own a mobile phone.
I recommend not owing one, its very peaceful and stress free, you can actually go out and get stuff done, and the rates of absolutely fuck all per month are very hard to beat

Oh, but it's great for listening to music, and audiobooks and stuff while out and about. I think it was Stephen Fry who said think of every great work of literature that you haven't read, just get hold of the audiobooks and listen to them while walking. That way you get both physical and mental stimulation.

It's just when I've taken the headphones out to listen to something on speaker and pushed the volume up I don't want to blow my ears off when I want to listen to something on headphones again.

Mp3 player- then no bugger can phone you up on it when your enjoying a good book.
Mobile phones would be good if they took the phone bit out of the buggers.

Its simple, if you phone and I dont answer its because Im out. If I'm out I'm doing something. And if Im out doing something then I dont want to talk to you because I'm out doing something!

If my phones rings & I dont answer it .....its cuz I dont WANT to !
Only my family has the name come up when it rings, everyone else can do one !

Even it ringing and me having to check it to see if its someone I want to ignore sets my crabbit off.

how can you not have a mobile living in Outer Hootsmon? what if a flock of rabid haggis attack you while you are scaring mammals during a windy walk up t'hills?

Ah well I keep something under my kilt for such emergencies. Its amazing what you can fit under there if you have a determined mind.

That's basically what tablets are these days. Or the iPod Touch.

To big to clunky and people could sill annoy the crap out of me by sending texts, or chat or some other crap. Just say no!

They can't text you on a tablet, that goes through the mobile network same as phone calls.  Chat's still a thing, but only if you install and sign into a messaging app.

It would still beep and annoy even if only to tell you its low on power or some other annoyance.
How about go out, leave all that crap behind, and instead have your own thoughts and take in the scenery?

Privacy and quiet in the modern world is hard enough to find without taking shit with you that reduces it even further.

Oh, that's easy to solve. You just make your favourite song your ringtone and just don't answer your phone. That way every time someone calls you get to hear your favourite song.

You forget Blue something fundemental- I am a crabbit bastard, I dont have favourite songs, I just have a list of songs graded according to how much they irritate me.

Maybe you should have a song that makes you crabbit.

That way you can ensure crabbit levels stay at an acceptable level.
