Actually Moffat Who has had very few episodes set on Earth at all, even fewer set on contemporary earth, and even fewer of those set in London (in fact only the first episode of series 7 I think is set in modern day London)- under Moffat we have had Letworth where Amy and Rory are from, Victroian London, Victorian Leeds and somewhere in the English countryside in the late 1940's.

Compare that to the RTD era where an awful lot were set in modern London and there was a London based alien invasion every single xmas for four years on the trot.

When it comes to contemporary London RTD is King- most of his Who period seems to be set there.

And yet New Who is filmed in Cardiff isn't it?

Would the Daleks find Wales too boring to invade?

Yes that trailer is rather 'Cool Beans' indeed.

Personally I actually found Tennant more interesting in his darker episodes (Midnight and the Waters of Mars being amongst my faves) though the double act he had in the trailer with Smith looks very fun.

Midnight and the Waters of Mars being amongst my faves -Malick

Good choices I would add Turn Left to that list too and Family of Blood- although I could have done without the go-go gadget robot thing in Waters. Mad

The Doctor is interrupting BBC- he is popping up breaking into the BBC idents (those increasingly surreal things they put up between programs advertising themselves)- so keep an eye out for him!

Two scenes from an eiosde I always feel is unfailry maligned, The Beast Below, the second episode of 11's reign and Amy's first adventure in the TARDIS.

First some Who style shenanigans (and its purely coincidental this features Amy in her nightie and an upskirt shot, shame on you all for thinking it Mad ) Obviously contains spoilers.

And the Doctor has to make a decision and is very crabbit about it indeed-

I dont know, its always puzzled me but it does turn up remarkably often on Who sites as a bad 11 episode. I always liked it, its fun, its got a decent enough plot with heart, some good moments for Amy putting down her claim to be a companion, and its the first time we see 11 get angry.

I have to say I have been enjoying the BBC's build up to the 50th with lots of little extra surprises.

You can also play spot the TARDIS in other BBC shows- it was on Nortons desk this week- Im waiting for it to turn up in the background of EastEnders. Very Happy

Just watched 'The Web Planet'...weird, confusing and frankly rather crap, the worst of Russel Davies and Moffat combined with the limitations of 60's TV.

How that got greenlit I don't know. A shame as I've enjoyed every other classic ep thus far.

On another note there was some guff in The Sun today saying that the Doctor will be granted a new set of regeneration in the Xmas episode, there's no source, and it's the sun so it's probably a load of cobblers.

In anycase, given Moffat's hints about them exploring the Frobisher/12th doctor link I'm certainly curious to see if they are addressing the regen limit in either of the specials...

I might start watching that one in a minute yeah it does look a little odd, I've only got around a dozen of Hartnell's left to go, but at 90 mins to 3 or 4 hours a story it's hard finding the time or enthusiasm to si still for that long (I tend to get distracted or bored with drawn out TV series).

I loved the Aztecs, the Dalek stories and The Sensorites though.
