Thanks, Norc! You're the first person to wish me a happy birthday today without me having to go say hi to them first (i.e., my family). Very Happy

Not a bad walk to the paper shop of a morning this I have to admit, even I find it hard to be crabbit on mornings like this (but I try anyway)

Thursday was the start of Eastbourne Airbourne, lousy weather this year, grey, overcast & chilly, Autumns definitely on its way ! I can hear the planes going over my place, its a fantastic roar ! makes you realise how it must have sounded during the war when they all took off etc. Its held along the seafront, but I dont go as Im not keen on crowds !

I saw one or two planes, couldnt identify them tho, The sky was so grey & overcast & drizzly that you could only really hear them ! AND the Red Arrows had to change their air display plans cos of the low clouds etc, so not much fun for the 100s that DID turn up. You have to hang around, bored to tears, waiting for anything to fly past at the best of times, & thats when you get sucked into paying out dosh you really havnt got on crap you dont want or need just to pass the time ! & the teas, coffees & food cost a wad, let alone all the shitty merchandise ! Mad

Azriel - same has happened with Southend Airshow, although that was cancelled this year. The flying display used to be great and there were all sorts of things along the seafront for people to do. These days it is overpriced junk food and double glazing salesman. That is why I don't bother with things like that much any more.... go to some proper airshows instead.

Your right Lance ! Very Happy  One of these days I will, Everyone looks forward to the Lancaster Bomber but I dont even know if it even turned up this year ?
Next, theres a Medieval Jousting "do" to look forward to. One near me is at Michelham Priory, its cheaper to get in but no less fun, the atmosphere is great, & the Priory is a soothing, relaxing place to be, hard to leave it ! So much goes on, everyone dresses Medieval style, the stalls are interesting & the people KNOW their trade whether its tanning hides or silver smith etc, & are happy to talk & tell you interesting things, & then the big guys dress up in armour & fights ensue ! Even bring out the horses in their banners & flags ! I luvs it I do !
