Ha, comeback from 3-23 to 24-23. Eat that DreamTeam!
And Cowboys meltdown against the Detroit Lions! Detroit wins 34-30! Even though I don't care for Detroit. I'm just glad Cowboys did terrible. 2 different comebacks in one day!

Arizona St 35- Utah 14
Why Utes? WWHHYY!?
On a higher note
Utah St. 63- Wyoming 19
That's better, even though I don't actually care for USU.
Baseball- Cardinals face the Brew Crew in the National League Championship!
Hopefully Cardinals win, but I'm ok with Brewers too!
(Petty, even though you don't care for American sports or American beer, I think you'd like the Brewers because: they are from Milwaukee which is one of the biggest beer producing cities in the nation, their field is Miller Field (for the Miller beer company), and they are the Brewers (for brewing beer).)

Pffft, Miller? I would hope that a drinking nation such as Scotland has higher standards for their alcohol.

Well considering the fact that I will never drink, I dont even pay attention to what the quality is.

Re: All things sporting
We have heard of this Miller stuff in Scotsdale. It was under investigation by Trading Standards for claiming to be beer. Then remarkably they brought out something called Miller Light- as far as the Courts could determine it's some form of homoeopathy based drink!
Scotland chalked up a 1-0 win over mighty Lichenstein (a country whose name takes longer to say than naming all its citizens does). Still keeps us on track, just, to go through in qualifying. And we have to qualify now England have with their pathetic 1-1 draw and Potato Rooney getting sent off for acting ike a spoilt twelve year old-again.
Just World Champions Spain to beat and Scotland are there.....

Re: All things sporting
I'm still confused Lorient as to which team/teams you support. You seem to support all of them. Americans! No wonder your country doesn't have any proper team hatred! This is why you are rubbish at the sports the rest of the world plays and have to invent your own! Where the hatred? Wheres the anger?
Just remember the old football saying and you might get somewhere; "Football is not a matter of life and death. It is much more important than that."

Congrats to Andy Murray on wining the Japan Open and the Doubles with his brother Jamie. Andy is on a roll it seems after wining the Thailand Open last week.
I wonder if the English papers are calling him British this week!

Re: All things sporting
For football I support the 49ers and the Packers. That's it. Most other teams I don't care either way. For college football I support BYU and Utah. I do consider the 49ers and Utah as my real teams though. So if the Packers playthe 49ers I will hate the Packers for that game. If BYU plays Utah, I will hate BYU for that game.
The other teams I keep putting up arethe teams they play. for example; the 49ers played the Buccaneers this week and beat them 48-3. I then put in my post
49ers 48-Buccaneers 3.

Re: All things sporting
Well Scotland are not going to be in the competition. We failed to qualify after a master class in the game from World and European Champions Spain. We lost 3-1) The lads gave their all but Spain are on a different level from pretty much everyone right now. It was torturous to watch from a Scotland perspective yet you couldn't help but admire the Spainards skills. Their control, movement on and off the ball and precision of their passing is a marvel to behold. There 3rd goal in particular was a display of skill.
But Scotland did the damage to themselves early in the campaign in games we should have won and somehow didn't. Having to beat Spain in their country was always mission impossible.
THe competition will be a less fun place without the tartan army there.

Thankyou Lorient but its ok, this one of the many occasions where buckie proves its worth once more. Drink in celebration, raise a bottle of it in mourning. Its always there and its always right.
