I think it was alive. Some sort of nasty bug that bores under your skin. Or it hatched from eggs laid under the skin. No

I don't know Petty. I like to think they would have the brains to not pick a live bug to pieces while it is still inside the skin.

Got the union letter through the post this afternoon. 1st of October regionally, then a later national one is planned. Will be the first time Naswut have taken joint strike action with Nut over pensions pay and working conditions, they've been on action short of strike action till now.

Yes it is. Not much new to tell. Nut are still on strike from the original pensns vote, that the government have refused to continue to discuss, just imposed changes. On top of that they a changing the terms and conditions and dismantling national pay structures. Gove is trying to privatise education and is getting close to succeeding. The latest push of ofsted  over the las few years has been at primaries and those LEAs that have few academies. Over 50% of secondaries are academies now, any that are found to be less than good are being strongly pressure to join an existing academy chain. More free schools a being allowed to open, even in areas with surplus places. It will reach a point were a big enough majority is reached and Gove says that all have to follow

Oops, my teacher is showing......Embarassed

That doesnt sound so good- that Gove is trying to privatise the english education system is no surprise, that he might be succeeding is a huge worry though.

But wont teachers be payed better if they work in a 'free' school? (Youd think they'd at least have incentives for teachers to do what they want)

Back to previous topic: totally privatizing education is a bad idea, even if being paid by government funds.  The idea of government paying for education is to level the playing field, capitalism is not conducive to that.
