I totally disagree with your analysis of Gaimans writing style Petty. His characters in the books are incredibly well drawn. Every character is unique. I dont know how many of his books you have read, but I have read ALL his books, and the reason I love his work is that even the smallest secondary character is rich in atmosphere and individuality.

Now this latest Cybermen episode, I saw the first 10 minutes or so before the link stopped working, and I have to say it felt like walking through mud, it was really clunky, slow and a wee bit boring. It almost felt as if someone else had written it, it was so poor, the dialogue was dire. Maybe it picks up, but it didnt inspire me at all.

i saw it, it was niiice although the kids where a bit of fresh air, they didn't do much and why tuck in ... teenagers? also. not the best acting there. BUT I LIKED IT

I'm sure it'd be hilarious but I don't watch the show so I wouldn't be able to get much less write any references.
