That wristguard isn't a good idea. The hoops will catch the string and all hell will break loose.

Re: Artwork inspired by Tolkien
Is that actual concept artwork from the Bakshi film or just a fan interpretation of it?
But shows in my view in one shot a better attention to Tolkien than PJ- note how Legolas and Gimli sit together, discussing the door, how Sam has Bill the pony and Frodo is with them and Merry and Pippin keeping each other company and the two men of Gondor standing side by side. All the books character stories at that point are represented in that one image.

Clearly you lot have not seen the Bakshi Dub enough times yet.
Boromir's Norse appearance is made much of in the Dub, and one of his favourite exclamations is: "By my Viking Loins!"

Re: Artwork inspired by Tolkien
I think PJ's look of the trolls was spot on, as was much of the look of middle earth. But he took the personalities too far.

The physicality of the trolls looked ok IL give you that but, I wasnt happy with the look of ME. It felt like a tourist Board guide to Lithuania. ( out of season ! )

I like that alot, the trees look very English and the trolls look both creepy and silly.
Isn't Aragorn beardless in the book though?

But he took the personalities too far.- Halfy
It was the dialogue they were given-in the book its witty and darkly humorous.
And there is some great back and forth banter that never compromises the peril of the trolls, or the very real threat they present.
PJ reduces that to snot gags and lines like about stuff up there hooter, there is even a comedy 'boingk' noise when one troll hits the other on the head with the ladle.
They never have any presence or menace because its all just farce rather than word play.
And the worse thing is if you read the dialogue in that section its perfectly suited to the sort of comedy acting Freeman specialises in.

Russian art work of The Hobbit, which I quite like
This isnt Russian, but it conveys to me that Bilbo is meant to be invisible in this scene, which fooking peejers mucked around with !
