John Blanche Artwork - Battle of the Five Armies
Hi guys
My company has been asked to handle the PR for the upcoming sale of John Blanches illustration at auction in December 2014, which see’s his depiction of The Hobbit ‘Battle of the Five Armies’ scene.
As I’m sure many of you are aware, John Blanche is a fantastic and incredibly well known fantasy artist, and as such Peter Jackson himself has shown interest in this piece.
As a fan myself, I am sharing this info before general release with the forum community.
All other info will be released through John Blanche's Facebook page, so I have added a link.....https://www.facebook.com/pages/John-Blanche-Gallery-of-Illustrations/623425927732996 in case anyone is interested
You can also email me direct with any queries
Cheers guys

Welcome to Forumshire Elenwe.
Your embedded link just seems to go some sort of generic news page, and as I dont know what it is I would not recommend others clicking on the embedded link.
However the facebook link seems to work and goes to the page of the artist you are promoting.
Interesting art style. Reminds me of 70's album covers.

The double underlined word 'facebook' is an embedded link and goes to this site- http://buzzborn.com/category/facebook/ when clicked on.
The link in your last post is much better for people wanting to see the artists work- I'd recommend folks go there.
And yes that is indeed a very detailed battle painting. I like it.

Re: John Blanche Artwork - Battle of the Five Armies
I'm sorry but I cant see a double underlined embedded link from my end, so not sure what it is or how it got there....I have been told to direct to the facebook page first as that is where the information regarding the sale will be, and then posts of the image in detail as well. I have had no instruction to direct to the website unless someone asks to see the picture or responds in anyway to my first line of contact
He is a very talented illustrator, also he is the arts director for Games Workshop among other things; you can really see his passion for fantasy, especially The Hobbit scenes that he has drawn

Re: John Blanche Artwork - Battle of the Five Armies
Petty, I think maybe you've picked up a bit of malware on your browser that inserts random links. There are no imbedded links showing for me, but I just tracked down a malware program on my hard drive and a matching browser plug-in that were doing exactly what you're describing. I've had to do this every once in a while, and they always show up first of Forumshire for some reason.

Thanks Dave Ill run a scan to see if something has snuck by.
Odd though as its only showing up in that one post, not in any others or in any other threads- and usually with those sort of malware the damn ad links are embedded everywhere you go.

Re: John Blanche Artwork - Battle of the Five Armies
You were right Dave- was a bit of malicious malware. But I did some experimenting on various sites before I expunged it to hell, and it seems it was triggered only by the word 'facebook'. So a very particular bit of targeting for malware.
Still annoyed it got on at all- so much for all the firewalls, virus progs and malware/spyware detectors I have running

Re: John Blanche Artwork - Battle of the Five Armies
Half the time I think it's the (allegedly) anti-spyware software that is the worst culprit. I recall you having this issue before, too.
Anyway, welcome to Forumshire, Elenwe! Mr Blanche has some interesting artwork, though it does feel very 70s to me as well. I wish you luck with promoting the auction!

Re: John Blanche Artwork - Battle of the Five Armies
I think its the chaotic feel I like about it, you can see new things in lots of different parts of the picture, and it captures that chaotic feel of all hell breaking loose.

Re: John Blanche Artwork - Battle of the Five Armies
Ah so you saw it I'm glad you like it, his attention to detail is outstanding and you can see the passion he has for the story!
I love the chaos! What is battle if not chaotic and to be able to portray the energy of war in an illustration is pure talent! I'm starting to get a lot of attention on this piece now........and just for you guys, I will be releasing the second illustration to go on sale, The Destruction of Numenor.......Wondering if this scene will be shown in the upcoming film or not! What do you guys think?

Umm....nothing to do with the Hobbit. But then, but then neither should Legolas or Tauriel or Azog.

Re: John Blanche Artwork - Battle of the Five Armies
Exactly! I have heard from a source that Numenor and the downfall might be a scene in the film.....so who knows....it's not unlike cinema to chop and change story's for effect, like you say Legolas, Tauriel and Azog shouldn't be in the film either
