The Stone Henge-y stones around the bottom of the hill are a nice touch.chris63 wrote:Telperion and Laurelin... The Trees of Valinor by Roger Garland
Re: Artwork inspired by Tolkien
They are a nice touch artistically but not sure they are appropriate- the races in Tolkien dont tend to go on for building religous monuments.

Re: Artwork inspired by Tolkien
True as a general rule, but considering that Valinor is the literal home of the gods (Angels ... whatever) and is very sparsely described I think it's an acceptable bit of artistic license.
Re: Artwork inspired by Tolkien
I think that picture is beautiful, vibrant, IL ignore the Stonehenge-y rocks tho.

Love the landscape and the blue cloaks and hoods in that last pic. Are those instruments they carry in their "backpacks"?

I like both those pictures, those Dwarves are how I imagined them in the book.

Given that it's the home of the undying gods, why is stonehenge all crumbly? There should be no decay in Valinor.Eldorion wrote:True as a general rule, but considering that Valinor is the literal home of the gods (Angels ... whatever) and is very sparsely described I think it's an acceptable bit of artistic license.

Re: Artwork inspired by Tolkien
Are those sheet draped brontosaurs in Lorien?! Or is Galadriel freakishly tall and showing her age?

Re: Artwork inspired by Tolkien
Just noticed that halfy, very funny.
On another note i don't think there is such a thing as a brontosaurus.
Wrong scull on a different body or something ?
