Sadly Britain doesnt seem to tproduce cartoons for kids like this anymore. Brilliantly eccentric and funny Count Duckula, with David Jason on the vocal talents.

When I was younger I was stuff like this, probably explains a lot

Frankly some of the stuff in the 70's for young kids in the Uk was really brilliant but quite out there

Dramarama was a kids series on after school. Each week was a different drama but they tended to share a sense of the eeire or super natural or have a twist.
This episode is a classic example of that. They just dont seem to write stuff for kids like this in the UK any more sadly except or Who.

Red Dwarf is due back in the Autumn for a new series.
After the BBC stoppe making them it got high vieiwing figures on repeat on a channel called 'Dave'.
That channel has decided to fund a new series, shot just like the original in front of a studio auience.
They are getting on a bit but if it can recapture th eold comedy gold magic then I dont care.

Heres the trailer

And what it has to match up to.

The brilliant political satire The Thick of It has returned- complete with coalition government and of course that means the previous government, including sweary genius Malcolm Tucker are now the opposition.
Excellent opening episode I cant wait for the rest.

And it seems you Americans can catch it if you have BBC America.

I found the first episode of it- this was set during the last Labour governments term in power.
Its only half an hour an episode too. Contains strong language.

That is a travesty of a thing to say especially considering how much Rickman stole from Nicholas Grace, the Sherriff in Robin of Sherwood (as well as nicking the idea of one of Robins men being a Saracen).

Television programmes - Page 11 1625187496Are you mad Ally? Shocked
Its so safe and pc its sickening- they nick the saracen from Robin of Sherwood- and make the character a feminist female islamist!- there is some truely cringeworth and not even deserving of the words 'partly concelaled' digs at the war in iraq- and it looks terrible compared to Sherwood which is more than 20 years older.
Its historically a complete mess too. And dont even get me started on turning Marion into a masked super hero!!! Television programmes - Page 11 398825057

As a penance go off and watch at least the first two series of Robin of Sherwood and then you can come back and make your grovelling apology for mistaking that stinking pile of BBC nonsense as anything like the real thing! Mad

I'll put an episode of Robin of Sherwood against any of the BBC episodes any day- let people watch and decide. Here's my offering, the second episode of the first series- and Michael Praed used to make ladies feel faint and weak kneed- Im sure his allure must still be there, despite the 80's mullet, and given the ladies on this forum the thought of hot eyecandy should be enough to get them watching. Television programmes - Page 11 1918643206

ps I forgot to mention the excellent soundtrack by Clannad- back when Enya was still a member.

I must take my hat to the BBC who last night (Sat) provided me with
three quilty tv programs- Who of course, episode 2 of the new series of
The Thick of It, and a docudrama based around the Blair/Clinton years
called The Special Relationship. All 3 were quality Saturday night tv-
well done BBC, even if HBO did fund the special releationship one and
show it first- at this rate I might go back to watching live TV and pay a
licence fee!

Finally got round to watching this and loved it.
Probably of more
interest to the Brits here (of a certain era- and maybe the Aussies too)-
a dramatisation of the love affair betwen Barbera Windsor and Sid James-
against the backdrop of making the Carry On films.

I loved the opening title sequence too - perfectly captures the carry oon titles feel as well as some fun camera tricks on the Pinewood lot.

Anyone here watch Dexter? I watched the first season and a half and really enjoyed it but I stopped watching for reasons unrelated to the show. I've heard that the show took a nosedive in quality in recent years but Season 7 began last night and the premiere was apparently well received. After skimming the Wikipedia summaries of the intervening seasons I watched the season premiere on Showtime's YouTube channel.

WARNING: This and all other episodes of Dexter include blood, gore, serial murder, nudity, swearing (censored in this version), and (more recently) incest undertones. Watch at your own discretion.

I've heard that from a couple of different people but I also heard that the season 7 premiere is better than anything since season 4. Shrugging

FWIW I didn't like it as much as what I remember from seasons 1 and 2 but I still enjoyed it.
