But looking more a s layman and amateur artist some questions would arise if they are one painting- why does the line of the beach and sand along the bottom of the left hand picture not continue in the right? Also why do the flowers on the grass only appear in the right had a painting whilst the grass in the other is bare? why are the trees seemingly two different species with the leaf structure painted differently in each picture and the right being flower bearing ones when if one painting they would be the same grove?
And regarding the scaling of the paintings- are the two real paintings the same heights? Do they physically match up in the real world? }}}
I think the land is missing because it would be difficult to see Mercury against a dark background so just in that part its been lightened with lblue sky. The flowers on the ground only in the Primavera could be because in that part of the painting its the birth of Spring whereas in the birth of Venus Spring/Flora is already in full flower. so looking at it from right to left you get Zephyr the Wind god taking the nymph Chloris, she turns into Flora goddess of flowers, then Venus wearing the red mantle she was given at her birth. the grass is bare on the left because its not spring there. but its possible the paintings weren't actually physically attached, but hung next to each other on the wall.

This is interestingly exciting
I think its possible because she is goddess of flowers.

{{Just to be clear Figg- I like your theory, I just thought I would throw put the sort of questions I thought might be raised against it.
I find this very intriguing and interesting however. The transition line between them still seems to sharp to me, the cut off of the flowers, change in lighting, difference in tree types, change of land shape are all very stark if its meant as a whole, but thats not really quantifiable by me without having much better knowledge of the style of multiple panel pictures of the period, and if such a sharp disparity like that between them is common or not }}}

Re: Artisitc Merits
I am not an expert in Renaissance art but I know that each flower and tree has symbolic significance. Even small details have meaning every separate flower is symbolic of the Medici family. I know there are 500 different species of plant in the Primavera painting, all individually identifiable. its amazing.

{{{Got my hands on Terragen 4 Beta, only for about 10 more days though when it explodes or something, or at least stops working. But one of its new features is basically an overall of the lighting system, including camera lens flare in the mix.
So I gave a test run, here's a short 8 second burst of it, fairly low quality render however as its just a test. Hoping before the time limit on the beta runs out to do something Fourmshire themed in it if I can}}}

As usual, I'm impressed! You'll be making a proper adaptation of TH and LotR before you know it.

Looks very professional. Ha! Spotted your artwork!
Glad to see students are still faddaruka-ing. Didn't get enough faddarukan' when I was in school. Don't know what that word means but it sure looks like something students would be doing.

It's like a buddy week, just, being norwegian, with excessive amounts of alcohol and partying, seeing as norwegians on the whole are real retiering people when they don't drink.
