{{Trying to! Terragen being a landscape program doesnt have explosion or fire effects so I basically cheated.
The Heat Ray is a spotlight and the 'fire' effect is just two light sources places among the buildings, one red one yellow to give the glow.
I tried something similar a while ago when I did a version of the 'Thunderchild' scene, no Heat Ray in that one, its hard to get it to show up- in the first pic above I had to add in a small faint localised cloud layer around the buildings, that way the beam has something to 'cut through' and shows up- }}
