Ooo - somehow I missed this. I think the black dog has the closest expression to match the Halfy/Tauriel matchup.

I was talking about expression, not hair color. I'd say I'm closer to the color of fresh rust.

Speaking of which, my 'Jackson causes blue balls' post has definitely been removed. And it was such an insightful analysis.

Did you extend the analogy to Tolkien?

Is it just me, or didn't Stu say that he was only going to delete spam if he became a mod?
Edit: Looking through his posts, he's actually deleted entire threads. Damn.

Anything anyone else ?
I'm just here to clear out the Spam, when I see it, and maybe keep you lot from spitting your Dummies out when you all get little overwhelmed and need your Safety Blankets... or maybe not. Dunno now after the last lot;)
And Remember, I volunteered to do the Shovelling for YOU.
As there are deleted posts, I guess some kind of Wind-up was in order. But no worries ! When I get fed up of this thread, I'll just Delete it...

No, no. The line of reasoning was that Jackson did such a good job on the things he got right (I'd call it a slim majority) that it made the viewer far more frustrated at the things he got wrong than would happen otherwise. I'd call it enough of a complement to Jackson that it would have slipped through at ToRN.
Don't recall the exact wording but something along the lines of
"Jackson is good enough at what he got right to leave his viewers stompin' and cussin' with a case of blue balls about the things he missed....
...So the 'purists' do not claim that everything PJ did was wrong. If he indeed did everything wrong, the purists couldn't be bothered to care. Instead they are angry that he brought them close to the supreme bliss of a perfect experience, only to snatch it away from them."
That's not close to the exact wording, but it's the essence of it. I'd call it downright complementary. One doesn't get a case of blue balls from the clueless and slovenly; quite the opposite. (Though I should make clear to the younger hobbits that 'blue balls' is an entirely mythical condition! (Don't fall for it! ))

Seems a sound analysis to me Halfy.

Re: Critics review 'An Unexpected Journey'
I think the *coughmodcough* over in Bree is taking his duties a wee bit too seriously. I only deleted spam and kept my distance from the rest. I wouldnt delete other peoples posts unless they are total obvious trolls or absolutely foul bullies. Anything else is abusing power in my opinion. Its not for a mod to decide whose posts are acceptable or not, its a mods job to stop spam and stop overt nastyness. its a slippery slope and I for one dont like it.
I told him and he deleted my post.

Re: Critics review 'An Unexpected Journey'
That's a weird article. It's quoting Variety, who says that The Hobbit will probably earn a billion dollars by March (which is true). It's a bit early for the fanfare, though.
