Re: Oscar Watch
i am betting 12 years a slave will win something (what was my other guess again, i can't remember..)
i don't think Meryl Streep will win though, i think that one will go to Cate Blanchett.

Re: Oscar Watch
It was close on to midnight & all thru the house
Not a Hobbit was stirring, all round like a mouse
The Oscars are looming & so are The Globes
And Peejers is trying on velvety robes
He thinks hes the best, a sure fire saint
but, making The Hobbit, you surely aint.
Only best visuals ? these guys are nuts !
I paid for 3D to get seats full of butts!
Only best Hair ? they havent a clue !
Tons of horse hair & buckets of glue
Only best effects,edits & mix
We'll see about this! it must be a fix !
I am the greatest, I am supreme!
**(falls out of bed)** Oh shit! its not happening! its all been a dream !

Re: Oscar Watch
Did you dream you were Peter Jackson, Azriel?
Or was it Peter Jacksons dreams that were shattered.
Great poem, by the way.

Re: Oscar Watch
How come Cohen Bros got glossed over ? They've brought out some great films !

"A former Eastbourne sixth former, Nick Reed, has just been nominated for an Oscar for his documentary film The Lady in Number 6.
The film is about an inspiring 109-year-old pianist and Holocaust survivor and is co-produced by Nick’s sister Pip, who lives in Pevensey Bay. Producer Nick said, “Kids all over the world grow up on superheroes, what we, their parents, must remind them, is documentaries tell stories about ‘real superheroes.’ Superheroes are based on great people, real people, like Alice Herz Sommer.” "

DOS fails to capture the VFX Oscar that LOTR once had on lockdown.

Re: Oscar Watch
Gravity: 3
Hobbit: 0
Of The Hobbit's three categories, the only other film nominated in all of them was Gravity, so I was wondering (and sort of hoping) that it would beat DOS in all of those.
Now to go read the fanboy meltdowns.
