Odd they accuse him of being left wing when in his most famous work 1984- the Party is originally socialist- its hardly an endorcment of the left wing..

Orwell was a socialist though, just of a more different (more moderate) variety than the sort he criticized in 1984.

Hey Petty I cant believe you left out THERE AND BACK AGAIN (or finding Frodo) by the Archet bugle. Its got to be the funniest story of the year.
put it on the list.
and I have a sneaking suspicion Hannah and Ethel is by Her Swearyness.
we should have a Best Bear Tale too.

Re: 3Rd Annual Forumshire Awards Discussion Thread
The Bugle is a Forumshire newspaper and has always been in the paper awards. Its in this years.
However given the fact all the Bugle really produces is Wholesome Tales perhaps its seperate tales should be considered seperatly.
The problem there would be it leaves only leaves State News and Pure Publication in the newspaper category and State News has not published very much this year.

Re: 3Rd Annual Forumshire Awards Discussion Thread
The Bugle still does reporting separate from the Wholesome Tales stories, doesn't it? I don't see why they couldn't be counted separately.
We need some more short stories though, I think. Are there any individual Wholesome Tales that people want to nominate?

Re: 3Rd Annual Forumshire Awards Discussion Thread
Ive added 'There and back again by Anon' to the short story awards (or was it a serial? - I admit to a drop or two of buckie and therefore didnt bother my arse checking )
Should I also add 'The lion the witch and the Wardrobe'- or should each author only get 1 nomination in each category?

Re: 3Rd Annual Forumshire Awards Discussion Thread
So are we going to start voting on the 14th or so, then?
Re: 3Rd Annual Forumshire Awards Discussion Thread
Sounds good to me Eldo.
So if there any last minute suggestions for the forum categories now is the time to make them. Otherwise voting will open on the 14th.

Well, I don't know about the others, Ally, but that made me all giggly.
I hear these guys are hired for the Award show. I hope it's true! Though we might want to keep 'em off the buckie, they went a bit... Scothobbit-ish at the end there...
