Churchill is in it - and Daleks obviously- its the episode the Doctor tells the Daleks his jammy dodger biscuit is the Tardis self destruct button- and when they work out its not he has the wonderful line "Ok its a jammie dodger. But I was promised tea!"

ilming has now commenced on episode six, the first episode of next year's run of episodes; it is written by Steven Moffat and directed by Colm McCarthy, with Simon Dennis taking up the reins as Director of Photography. The episode is provisionally entitled The Bells of Saint John.

Rumours over the possible appearance of previous companions for the 50th Anniversary continue, fuelled by the usual "insider" gossip: "Next year is massive for the show. They are going to be pulling out all the
stops - the 50th anniversary show is set to feature stars from the past and present. There will be plenty of nods to the show's remarkable history and some old faces are likely to be reappearing. Karen and Billie are two of the Doctor's greatest companions and it's hoped they will be involved." Other names being bandied around include former Doctor David Tennant and the Doctor's original travelling companion Susan as played by Carole Ann Ford.

Matt Smith, the 11th actor to play the time traveller in the hit BBC series, told the Waikato Times today he would start a campaign to film an episode in New Zealand with Sir Peter Jackson directing.

''I think it would be an absolutely wonderful place to film Doctor Who,'' Smith, on the phone from the UK to promote the latest series of the show, said.

''I'm told it's glorious. I'm told it's quite similar to England. ''

Let's get Peter Jackson to direct one and go and make it in New Zealand. I would love to, I will campaign endlessly to come over and film there,'' Smith, who has never been to New Zealand, said.

''There's clearly a great film industry out there. It's something I would be very interested in it's just whether we can persuade the producers to fly us all over.''

Fortuntely a bit of rooting about and it seems a bit of unfounded Sun fluff- he was asked by a fan (PJ that is) cause of Mccoy being in the cast.
And Smith was asked as a follow up when he did a phone interview with some local NZ station- hence the diplomatic answer.

Going from Moffat writting Who to PJ writing Who would be like dining on a three course luxury meal and then being given a tray of cockroaches cooked in their own shit for afters. Thank Eru it seems to a be a nonstory!

He hasnt won a Hugo Nebula Award (thats the one counts if its Who).

Actually if he was just directing an ep I wouldnt have a problem with that- but not the film (which I think is a bad idea anyway and hopefully will never happen) and definetly PJ shouldnt be allowed anywhere near the writing or he would rip the heart out the show and kill the character of the Doctor stone dead.

Direct yes- write no- thats the line. If he just directs someone else work no probs there- I like PJ as a director- its when he thinks he knows best and can do it all he makes a complete arse of things.
