Re: RIP
Rest in Peace my beautiful Dax.
She was sadly killed in the early hours of this morning, hit by a car.
She was the most aware cat I ever knew, curious, inventive, and could always read my mood perfectly. I miss her far more than I thought possible.
She was there sitting on the wall by the door for me almost everyday when I came home from work,
it won't be the same again ever. More than a cat she was my friend, and I mourn her as a friend. Goodnight for the last time little Dax.

Sir Neville is gone.
I cherish him for founding the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, the premier Baroque chamber group. You haven't heard Vivaldi until you've heard the Academy play him.

92 is a good age & I agree a sad loss but, not so sad because he gave so much. Its one of the very few things about this country (UK) that I'm pigeon chested about. We seem to have an abundance of great music. "Last Night of The Proms" is the one place Id love to be. The Albert Hall must feel as tho its lifting off when that gets going.

One of a pair with Bob Dylan - artists who write great songs but can't sing worth shit.
But his rendition of Hallelujah was mesmerizing; Music Noir. Great band.

Re: RIP
"Mesmerizing" is a word that's often been used to describe Leonard. One of the most amazing bits of concert footage ever filmed is from the Isle of Wight concert when the crowd of over half a million people were on the edge of rioting, having burned the stage on Hendrix and others, and then Leonard took the stage and started talking. He spoke to half a million rioters as if each one was a personal friend, asking each one to light a match so he could see where they were, and slowly he brought them all under his spell. You can feel them change from a mob to individuals before your eyes. Amazing. If it wasn't on film I wouldn't believe it. I'll miss Leonard!

Robert Vaughn has gone also, I liked his drawn out "matter of fact" accent. Sad Christmas this year for quite a few families me thinks

Cohen can't (or couldn't, sadly) sing? Strongly disagree with you there. Now, I'm a huge Dylan fan as well, but I can understand why people would say he can't sing (and especially in his older day, when his singing more resembles talking), but Cohen?
