Post by Pettytyrant101 Sun Jun 17, 2012 10:26 pm

I have decided to do a new animation for Forumshire.
And I thought it might be fun to get some thoughts and contributions for ideas as I go.

This pic is the general landscape I plan to place Needlehole on (I was thinking Bywaterish)-dont worry to much about the colour shaders as the ground will be mainly covered with gras, flowers, tree models ect.
Just the shape of the land is the main concern.

Forumshire-the animation Forumshireland

There will be a Scothobbitland too and a Fjordianland and an Ozhobbitstan, any other suggestions?

will my eel wrangling premises be featured, or Ginger Meggs? what about Bree? a lot of us are Breelanders by birth. DI Ringo and Agent Norc could get a mention, as should Daves carrots, and Ferguson. maybe the picnic site if Zeus hasnt zapped it out of existence. Very Happy

Your shop will beon Needlehole High Street Mrs Figgs along with some of Odo's enterprises. I plan on icluding Our Lady's as well, the Mayors and Ambassadors residence, the Tower of Lore of course, the Duck and Muck, Davids Carrot farm and, um cant think of any more offhand.

Norc- thats the aim-just got to get the shape of the land right now. scratch

Mmm- Im not sure that possible with the progs I use Mrs Figg, but an interesting idea. I shall have to see what I can do (I maybe can start off with the models under the surface and bring them up as the camera approaches, mmmm)

Petty give Norc her 221b Baker street, or we will never hear the end of it.

Can we have the GOT music too? that would be super cool. Cheerleader

you know what would be even cooler? dont know if its possible, is if you were filming it as if you are Smaug flying over Forumshire, you see bits of him/you from time to time like a flick of a scaly tail or a spurt of flame as you roast Odos nuts. Shocked

I think it looks great, Petty. I imagine that Needlehole would have rolling hills and be surrounded by woodlands and bogs, but the town itself and the immediate area would be neatly tended meadows and fields and the like. I really like the style you have so far and I can't wait to see more. Very Happy

Also, in case anyone missed it or doesn't remember it, here is Petty's first Forumshire animation (I notice our population has increased significantly since then!).

Just imagine the camera swooping in as they come up, loads more buildings and trees coming up to and you've kind of got it.

So what's with the dark tower? Is it considered part of Forumshire because everyone keeps talking about it?

Thats Eldo's Tower of Lore. But I was just using it as a test because its big and easy to see. I can change the brick shader, make it white like a Minas Tirith tower or something. And it wont be placed there either that was just a convienent flattish bit of ground.

Tis a wiley ole fish Ringdortten-patience and it will be yours! (I think I'll include it off the coast of Fjordianland Nod )

more mountains, taller mountains, a wee bit more snow on the mountains, more fjord, deeper fjord and you've got it. (I would skip the pine trees cus we don't have any natural pine trees here, though that doesn't go for the southerners.)

Thanks Norc good refrence points- he stuff I looked at wasn't quite so dramatic or sheer, or snowy for that matter.

Heres a test for Farmer Dave's carrot farm- crops still to be added. (apoligiies- it's really wide but only way to fit it all in without going miles back)
