Lord knows things go all to pot around here without a maintenance.

NOBODY is washing my kilt until at least Spring!  It doesn't come off in winter

The original site maintenance notice (from five years ago ) was to let people know that the site would be offline briefly while technical work was being performed.  I have no idea what exactly Ady was doing; I wouldn't join the forum for another few months so I never got the chance to ask.  Currently we don't have any work that has to be done that's intensive enough to require taking the forum offline, though.

I've been active on Tolkien forums for five years, yeah (the anniversary is about two weeks away ), though this was my second forum I signed up for so not quite as long here.  I first signed up for LOTR Plaza closer to seven years ago, but I promptly forgot about the forum for over 18 months after that.

I remember when I was considered a newbie because I was (a) 14 years old and (b) hadn't been around for the release of LOTR or the immediate aftermath.

There is something all very pathetic about this, Eldo. Eru bless you! And me --- because I  should be old enough to know better!

I've had my computer blocked by malware. even my extensive skills can't rectify problem so I'll have to get someone who actually has real IT skills to rescue me. May be awhile it being Erumas and all. Be back when I can. You'll have to take charge Petty and Amarie. sweet lawd!!!

What a lousy Christmas present, Orwell. I hope there's an easy solution to your problem! And if not, at least put it out of your head a while and enjoy the Christmas food and company of friends and family

May have lost a lot of my poems and books including two years of edits and rewrites and addings to my 500,000 word novel Jack. Teaches me for saying Santa is Pagan. Teaches me for saying Christianity is a Paganized Judaism. Teaches me for saying the Jews stole the One God from Akhenaten. Come to think of it, I suppose I had it coming!
