So glad you enjoyed it Eldo- it is a classic episode of NuWho.
And Carey Mulligan is superb in it (and ridiculously cure).
Moffat gets Who to a tee- he knows the scariest suff to kids is stuff they see all the time in their world- whether thats statues ir smething as simple as a crack in your bedroom wall. He gets how kids can make the mundane into sheer terror and then pokes it with a stick. And its just as effective on the adults because it reawkwns how we use to see the world. WHo has always done that but Moffat is the exempler of it.
May I also suggest the 9th Doctor two parter- The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances (series 1 NuWho)- Moffats first contribution to Nuwho.

Soon I trust Eldo, soon. For your own good obviously.
Just remember with the 11th Doctor stuff its more important to watch in order and ideally watch them all- series 5 and 6 are much more story arc orientated than 1-4.
(there are story arc elements in 1-4 but they are confined to a few episodes a series-so long as you see those you wont be lost- with 11 the arc permeates the series, so even when an episode isnt directly about it it is still about the arc themes).

Thanks, I'll have to keep that in mind. I might give The Eleventh Hour a rewatch or I might jump in at episode two since I remember the first episode pretty well.

I'd just start at the Beast Below then Eldo- the 2nd episode- no point rewatching Who when there is so much new Who yet to be watched!

Norc- heres the links you need- Ill give you three- the xmas ep and 1 and 2nd ep of series 6. That should give you something for this week.

A Christmas Carol (xmas Who is a slightly different beast- firstly its always chrissmy so try to get in the xmas spirit for it- wear a santa hat or something! And secondly it has to appeal to an audience that may not regularly watch Who - as its prime time xmas day tv)

http://vimeo.com/26190089

Series 6
The Impossible Astronaut

Day of the Moon (couldnt find it one chunk, sorry)

Its a character created by Moffat with an actress choosen by Moffat to play her- I feel I need not have to say anything more in her defense.

And if after a fair run (say all of series 5) you were to state such a view of her Eldo- then its fighting talk! Twisted Evil

Well in fairness really only a lady.
I believe Norc likes Amy and Kafria. Ally doesn't seem to mind her.
Amarie is a bit on the fence I believe, although I may be wrong about that.

I think Amy is al right, she is not horrible as some suggest. I kind of like her, yes. But I think Rose and Donna were better (and those are the only companions I know).

I think Amy is a devisive character.
She is not as sympathetic as Rose or Donna. She has a lot of walls she has put up over the years and her life is, well very complicated, thanks to the meddling of the Doctor.
There is a distance between her and the audience previous companions did not have.
In the past the companion only served three real functions. To ask all the questions, get in trouble, and to be the attachment to the audience in the scene.
Amy still fulfills the first two but not the third. She is as distant in her own way from the viewer as the Doctor is.
In Moffats Who Rory is the audience way in, not Amy.
I think that is a large part of why I like her and others do not.

I find critiscms of her performance harder to take. I just watched most of series 5 again and there is stuff in her perfomrance that only really becomes evident in light of the whole arc of series 5 and 6. There is stuff going on there that is suprising subtle and whose subtlies are not necessary evident on a first watch because they pertain to things the viewer does not yet know.

The special actor announcement has been made! And it is for the xmas special- Richard E Grant.

(Who trivia- Grant was the official 9th Doctor on a Who radio series before NUwho was announced and launched with Eccleston as the 9th)

Extended version of the 'First Question' vid including all 11 regenerations of the Doctor. Nicely done vid. (And an excellent intro to the shows concepts for any who might still not be sure what its all about)

The perils of being a theatre actor Norc- besides in the UK you dont count as a proper actor until youve dragged up for a part. Very Happy

Not sure about bloke on the left but the woman looks like Jane Horrocks- well known theatre and tv actress of some renown- so must have been something good whatever it was.
