I have always been thinking while watching dr.Who: Gee, how I wish they would talk a lot faster!! Nod

I think I will like her better than Amy, though. Sorry Amy. And sorry Petty!

What about poor Rory, the best male companion since the relaunch by a country mile?- I'll be just as sad to see him go.
Still got 5 episodes with the Ponds, which with the late Autumn start means the new companion will be debuting as part of the xmas special episode.

Rory is the best! I think it would be good for the doctor to only travel with Rory for a while, and leave Amy at home. I am sure she has some facebook stuff to update or something...

Need to go back to classic Who to find the Doctor travelling with only males. There is usually a female comapnion in the mix, the biggest loss for me will simply be one of numbers. NuWho under RTD had a bad habit of only having one companion at at time, whereas in classic Who there was anything up to five at a time. I prefer the ensemble feel having more than one companion brings to it as well as simply offering more story opportunities.

Oooo! Random memory!! We were looking at caravans some days ago, and in one there was a table where you could slide the table top sideways. And when we tried it,it made a sound so much like the TARDIS!!! Best table ever! cheers Too bad the rest wasn't what we wanted, was tempted to choose that exact caravan for that sound alone. Laughing

A table that sounds like a Tardis! I'd have bought it!

"I hope they change this new girls look, make her look like she has a personality, at the moment she's a bit Hollywood X Factor for my liking."- Mrs Figg

I take heart Mrs Figg from this bit of the article Chris posted- 'She has just finished filming on Stephen Poliakoff's "Dancing On The Edge" for BBC Two'- looks like she has more acting experience than just soap operas at least and has tackled some real acting with weighter material.
And I will trust in the Moff- I thought casting someone as young as Matt Smith was a mistake and he proved to be one of my favourite Doctors of all time. And of course I liked Karen and Arthur as the Ponds and will be sad to see them go- so I am more than happy to trust to the Moff here, wish I could feel the same way about PJ.
Besides when it comes to look this is Moffat- whose to say she will even be human.

Oh they are always human... who else are us viewers suppose to identify with? But it would be nice though...

They are not always human Amarie. Romana was another Time Lord, Leela was from a primitive alien culture, K-9 was robot dog, pretty sure Adric was alien, as was Vislor, and there was the android companion Kameleon- I may have missed some too.

I remember Leela and her suede bikini. Shocked my least favourite assistant was Bonny Langford, she had red hair too, I am seeing a pattern emerging here.

There has been some (as far as I can tell completely unfounded speculation) that with the anniversary coming up and her coming into it at xmas right before the anniversary year and episodes kick off, that she might be Susan, the Doctor's granddaughter from the very first series. She does have something of the look of Susan about her and as she was a Time Lord she would have regenerated by now anyway.
