Fair enough, though IKEA does seem murkier than most.

It would just be nice to hear of a big company who get investigated and it turns out they are doing everything right and by the book- never seems to happen

To be fair, the companies that aren't doing anything wrong probably don't get investigated in the first place, so they don't make the news.

I dunno how it is in America but here companies can get checked at random they dont have to have done something wrong first- bodies set up to just generally monitor various businesses, and when these random inspection occur they never seem to come out well.

I'm sure there are routine inspections in the US but it's in the name: routine. It's not news. No one will take interest into you have some sort of large scale (criminal) investigation going on. I would think the majority of businesses pass routine inspections.

Possibly, my only direct experience of it is in the Care business where the Care Commission do random investigation and inspections- yet to see a company come out of one of those clean.

At least here inspectors and auditors are required to find something wrong. It's taken for granted that nobody is perfect, so if an inspector finds nothing at all, that is enough to get the inspector inspected.

Ideally they find that a minor license or report is two weeks out of date or a fire extinguisher is no longer to code. Then they write you up in their report, you send a letter with proof that the condition has been corrected, and all is good. Annual inspections aren't something anybody looks forward to, but they force everybody to get their house in order from time to time.

The trouble with the larger corporations is that they often live in a culture where circumventing the codes is seen as clever, and some of them are very talented at it!

no, not really, the norwegian one isn't totally fucked. though the ones who win seldom get a proper carreer, they are often rushed into making an album and the ones coming thrid ir second or fourth have a better and longer lasting career, though it is pretty fair.

For some reason the runners-up tend to do better than the winners here too.

I didn't watch American Idol for years and years but I eventually went through a (thankfully) brief phase of watching talent shows. It was worth it for the Simon Cowell experience.

I bet i dunno who two of the ones in the planel is and one of them clearly has nothing to do there.
