Norc wrote:yes, i know it's an awesome piece of music ^^
we also play this one it's great fun.
Shostakovich is one of the great melody writers in history. It's fun to compare his version of Romeo and Juliet to Tchaikovsky.

Re: Music
remember i talked about the summer-string-course i was at and we played loads of classical music like the holberg suite and squach asked me if there were any recordings of the orchestra and well, apparently there is i was just lurking on the web page to see if there was anything about the opera i played on sunday, and look what i found ^^ it's teh C-orchestra (the most advanced one) u can hear and the first and the last installment of the holberg suite. if u watch carefully u might see me lol.. i am with the first violins, on the "outside" and third row back. the concert-master, or whatever the title is in english, is the one who played the solo part at the end and he is really good

Re: Music
Think we should probably carry on the music discussion on here instead of taking up the films thread.
Anyone fancy hearing something I put together a while back using lots of different samples? None of the instruments are mine or anything.... just put the song together from lots of samples I could find... so the arrangement and production side of things.

Re: Music
Great cover of Kris Kristofferson's They Killed Him, with an added verse at the end
For those who haven't heard the original:
Great song, and very typical Kristofferson too

Re: Music
Been messing about with some stuff today... ideas for Requiem (if it ever happens).
I have been going up a tone to start with an A minor chord as it makes things a lot easier (I can drop the tuning of my guitar if it is easier for others).
Will post something tomorrow.

There are some very specific things going on there.... I never remember that kind of detail.

Well if I have to listen to minutes of a language which is meaningless gobbledigook to me, I vote for Fjordlandian because it's the most unfailingly sublimely goofy sounding. good entertainment value.
