I do have a nice gib though.... Mrs Figg isnt the only one that has commented on its cut.
I am not going to openly encourage these adulterous comments though!

I have been contemplating a Scout like organization for the village for quite some time, tentatively called, "The Young Idiots." I'm thinking, Ally, I have found my first inductee!

OK but there's no way I'm paying you a weekly fee (or any kind of fee for that matter) to sit around eating biscuits (I used to go to scouts for a week or two this is what I did)

Re: Welcome and Introductions (Newbies, Please)
I have no idea what a Thestrel is Mrs Figg (presumably because I have never seen one what with them being invisible!), its sounds suspicously like a HP thing- one of her sad little combo-words.

Re: Welcome and Introductions (Newbies, Please)
I breed dwarf horses and they go inside the carriage to turn the wheels.... i learnt from my time hanging with the dark lord who was quite partial to a wheel or 2 (i went for 4!!!!)
I call it an 'automobile'. Automatic and mobile... see how I came up with that name all by myself and nobody else did before I was even born?

Re: Welcome and Introductions (Newbies, Please)
You know, I dont know why, but I am certain Tolkien would not have approved.

Scouse footballers with mullets? No more? Damn shame.

Another newbie!
Hi all!
Just following Eldo's request to introduce myself before I go posting anywhere. It's nice to meet you all!
How did you first come across Tolkien?
My uncle gave his battered copy of The Hobbit (which he'd discovered from the hippy-dippy '70s angle) to my more straight-laced father to read. After he'd read it, he gave it to me. I suppose I must have been around ten years old.
What do you think of the movies?
I love them. Am I happy with every aspect of all three of them? No. But do I think some of the uber-purist criticisms can be a little churlish? Yes. My favourite? "Fellowship".
How did you pick your username? Does it have any meaning?
As a long-time console gamer, I thought I'd reference one of my favourite games of all time, "Vagrant Story", from Japanese maestro Yasumi Matsuno (also responsible for the seminal Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy XII). However, as I played the game in 2000, I can't remember for the life of me exactly what a Riskbreaker was! Still, my avatar is Ashley Riot, the lead character and a Riskbreaker, and my signature is a quote from the main antagonist. Nice.
How did you find Forumshire? Search engine, referral, or something else entirely?
It was constantly referred to on "The Hobbit Movie News" forum where I used to post until recently as Kendalf. After a short break from commenting on Jackson's films, I thought the CinemaCon reel was the perfect excuse to get back to it...

Re: Welcome and Introductions (Newbies, Please)
Riskbreaker/Kendalf - welcome!
I have only recently made the transition from over yonder myself (I wonder if you can guess who I was).
Be nice to have someone else to talk to on the game thread I started up... look forward to chatting.
