Yeah great films- and so different from one another.
Also one of the few film franchises to have a top quality game made from it that actually adds to the overall character and backstory of the films.



Unfortunetly as every gamer knows film tie ins are the worst games ever so noone bought it- oh the irony.

Was actually funnier than I expected. I might check out This is the End after all.

Not sure about Liam Neelson- sure he will do an excellent job but how can you compete with Richard Burtons voice on the original?- and if he's holographic couldn they have made a Burton image and just used the original narration?

Id like to see the stage version of LOTRs on film,(drury Lane, London) I spect there's one out there,but I havnt seen it ?
I agree, Petty, Richard Burton had that depth in his voice to induce eerieness, I dont feel Liam Neeson has that aura ?

There was a depth to Burtons voice that just made it almost hypnotic- I mean just the opening lines and Im sold- drawn completely in by the end of it.

He was very persuasive! He had strong roles in nearly all his films, no wonder Liz Taylor couldnt resist him. He had a way of reeling you in & keeping you entranced.

pure charisma

One of my favourite films, although I find it hard to watch, is Who is afraid of Virginia Woolf? Burton and Taylor as husband and wife in a mutually abusive marriage. Performances, script, direction are all equally impressive.
It was the first black and white film I can remeber watching that felt genuinely honest to me. Before that most black and white films I had seen were either fanastical like King Kong or glamorous versions of reality.

Excellent Parkinson interview with Burton, from back in the day when chat shows were about finding out about the person, their approach to their art and anicdotes from their life, rather than an excuse to sell something and get out.

Thanks Petty, I feel better knowing you have to go half way across the world to find someone dumb as me ! Actually, I thought Id got it right but I had rushed it,due to the smoke alarm screaming its guts out as my Lasagne was burnt beyond recognition,sending the cats hurtling round the flat like heat seeking missiles, Ludo did a "wall of Death" Evil Kenevil would have envied ! Maia ripped the flesh off my arm & the PC mouse I threw on the floor popped out my PC & isnt working for some reason ? anyway, Watched "Fantastic fear of everything" with Simon Pegg & its bloody funny ! Havnt had a good giggle over a film in ages !

Who the hell asked for "Finding Dory?"

I liked Finding Nemo but I have zero interest in watching a sequel. A sequel to The Incredibles though, that I would watch.
