Merry Christmas - 2017

People in relationships and/or dating situations tend to kiss each other because they want to kiss that particular person, not because they are expecting or requiring that person to have a masterful kissing technique. Not that there is any one right way to kiss someone; different people like different things and even for the same person different situations call for different approaches. Starting relatively slow and seeing where things go from there is probably a good idea, but no one but the two of you can say how quickly or intensely things can or should pick up. Just don't bite her unless she asks you to. But really, there's not many ways it can be messed up.

why are we talking about kissing? i thought we were taking it slow here Malick??

The Good news: We are officially dating now

The Bad (or good as I'm still kinda nervous about the whole idea): no kiss today, we've only got as far as the awkward hand holding/hugging stage (i initiated the former, she the latter), we've agreed to stick with the plan to take things slowly, I guess I now have more time for youtube tutorial research for when it does happen.

Anyway, I think I'm going to stop talking about this publicly on the forum now, thanks for the advice guys, feel free to continue to Norc this thread or make jokes at my expense.

The kiss will happen when it happens.  I think Eldo's perspective is best: if it's something you both want to do it really doesn't matter if it's any good.  Be open about experimenting and it will get better with time.

Yeah I was kinda stressing about it happening today because I felt it was expected, but when we talked things through and agreed where we stand I realised that neither of us are ready for it, and happy to take things slowly, getting to know each other better first makes more sense, we are probably both going to be pretty bad at it to start with but as we forge a closer romantic/emotional bond we will be able to work through fumbling mistakes easier and with good humour, when it happens it will happen because it's an appropriate time
