Greetings, Underlings people of the Shire.
While I consider every day to be Dark Planet Day, it's February 11th that is YOUR D-day.
That was the day this forum was created by Eldorion, and graciously not devoured again by the Dark Planet.

Aww, thanks az. I honestly can't imagine what my teenage years would have been like without Tolkien forums; looking back that's one of the defining aspects of my adolescence.

I guess it is symbolic, of the world after the one ring was thrown into the fire, after the elven rings lost their power, of the world turning, from a world gripped in the dichotomy of good and evil to one of... mundanity. From colour, to grey.
