Can't resist. I've glimpsed the golden toilet in the Guggenheim, but didn't realize one could use it. If I had known it was a temporary exhibit I would have lined up for it.

Some of those buildings in the first picture are pretty modern looking for 1944, but I'm struggling to recognize the exact location.

That looks like the Rockefeller Center in the top right of the first image, if I'm not mistaken.

I also looked up some photos to try to confirm, but it's the line formed by the setbacks of the side portion when seen against the rest of the building that gave it away. Has always stood out to me for some reason. The Daily News Building has something similar but with fewer individual "steps".
