I wouldn't have pegged America as a hotbed for craft chocolate, but that turns out to be the case.

Re: Just...................whatever [7]
Congratulations!
I'm actually trying to finagle a pay cut in order to have more freedom. Not that I was making gobs of money, but I'd rather go back to being happy for a few years at the cost of filling up retirement funds. Perhaps a bad choice but I need a break for a bit.

Re: Just...................whatever [7]
Halfy - sounds like a good plan. I am doing my best to get an early retirement so I don't need to worry about that when older while still having the financial clout to do most of the things I want to now.
More responsibility but that is the point of a promotion I think.
Figgy - used to come as standard but the cuts mean I have to settle for the Aston.

Re: Just...................whatever [7]
Your body will still be in great shape for travelling in your 50's if you take care of it. If you can manage to go half retirement around then that may be the best plan. For some reason people don't do that, I suppose because most jobs want you full time. In my opinion that's stupid thinking: why not entice the more experienced people to stick around longer by giving them freedom - costs the company less, keeps the experience, keeps everyone happier.

Re: Just...................whatever [7]
I would like to retire in my mid-late 50s really. Gives me about 20 years to get prepared as much as I can.
In the mean time I intend in doing stuff that I won't be able to later in life... like see Gorillas in the wild!

Re: Just...................whatever [7]
Absolutely ! Hello Lance. Don't put off today thinking you can always do it tomorrow. You never know if you are able to do things as well as you can now ? If there's a chance to grab life by the throat then, go for it !

At first glance I was suspicious of the drapes on those elephants.
But then I realized it was probably just the far older Indian design for which they were going. Really neat architectural touch!
