A slinky version of Downtown performed by Anya Taylor-Joy as an official music video for the upcoming Last Night in SoHo. I knew she liked to sing, this is the first time we really see her doing it. Film looks interesting.

So while investigating the historicity of The King I found that there was a carol written about it.  So groove out to some 15th century syncopation:

Bungo and I used to geek out over medieval music. Nice to know others appreciate the alternate plane it transports you to.

Attempts to reconstruct ancient Greek music. I think they were limited by their desire to use only classicists in the choir - sounding a bit ragtag. They should try again with professional vocalists.

I just saw her on the streets of New Orleans saturday, and here she is on youtube! But all my videos had cars going in front, this is much better quality.

Bit too much like what you hear when put on hold for my tastes. I was expecting something more soulful from a Russian band - Russians aren't much for light chit-chat.

I'm pretty sure she's improvising, in which case the transcription is almost as impressive as her performance.

Had a bit of a crush for Kate when she first came out.

for some reason I always get Kate Bush mixed up with Suzanne Vega, who was also easy to have a crush on (but there were so many). The place the song is based on is walking distance from where I live.

Always liked that song.

Thought at first this was a small town happening. It's Barcelona, but big cities can feel like small towns.
