Re: All New Who
Capaldi still hasn't made his mind up whether he is staying or not (neither Smith nor Tennant left things this late in the day to decide) but it does sounds like he is very tempted:

Personally, I very much hope he stays, not least because I'll probably stop watching the show again when they announce another 30 year old with stupid hair as his replacement...

I really enjoyed the first three boxsets and the story synopsis for this set sound great, but it does read like they might be cramming in too much.
Will be very interesting to find out if this ends with the Time War starting...

I don't think Class will be getting a second series:

Can't say I am too fond of that idea myself.

Re: All New Who
{{Den of Geek spoiler free review summing up-}}
'I really enjoyed this. There are one or two sweet little moments that may not quite work for everyone, but they do fit the story, and the season. Plus, I laughed an awful lot, and found myself drawn into an adventure that’s as close to standalone as you’re going to get from a Doctor Who Christmas special. There are nods to other things, but we’ll save that for Christmas Day, and the spoiler-filled review.
It’s a fairly reactive review this, and it’s not fully settled in my head. But I don’t remember enjoying a Christmas special this much since The Christmas Invasion. It might be because Doctor Who has been away for 12 months. It might be because it’s Christmas. But gut instinct tells me it’s more because it’s a really good, nicely nerdy episode.'

'Matt Lucas’ return as Nardole offers comic relief and some moments of genuine tenderness and insight into the Doctor’s life.....Peter Capaldi is, as ever, utterly marvelous with some great comedic moments toning down the previously somewhat cranky incarnation of the Time Lord. Sets and design are to be applauded....It’s fast paced, cramming a lot into just an hour, with some fairly gruesome special effects and a gruff-voiced superhero. Funny and silly, it’s a romp – it’s Christmas and kids are going to love it. It’s good to have the Doctor back.'

Re: All New Who
{{{mmm curious this. I just happened to catch the second half of the Who xmas special The Next Doctor- the one with the stompy Cyber-king.
Now what I found curious was the cyberking incident is one of the events wiped from history by the cracks in time- the stroyline which begins in Moffat era with 11. And this is the last straight up xmas special of the RTD era before 10 regens the following xmas.
But at the end of the episode the other Doctor bloke says, "The city will recover, as London always does. Though the events of today will be history, spoken of for centuries to come."
Which is fair enough, it would be, but then the Doctor, somewhat puzzled replies, "Yeah, funny that." Obviously implying that for reasons unknown history does not remember a giant cyberking stomping about Victorian London.
So had Moffat already colluded with RTD on laying a few very early hints of the upcoming cracks in time line, or was this just a RTD handwave non-explanation Moffat then picked up on and used? (which would be like him in the same way he likes to tie up Doyle lose ends from Sherlock stories- but at same tyime the Doctors answer seems too deliberate for just a handwave away explanation.)
What do you think? }}}

Re: All New Who
{{ Moffat talks series 10-
"Because we're going with a new companion for the new series, it sort of reboots Doctor Who back to its simplest, purest form, where it's mad adventures with your nutty uncle from space," he suggested.
Pearl Mackie is Peter Capaldi's new co-star, playing Bill Potts - who Moffat described as "very funny, very earthy, very grounded".
"She brings out a very, very different side to Peter," he continued. "I always felt with the Doctor and Clara (Jenna Coleman)... they were in a way quite rarified.
"Jenna's anything but posh, but there has always been something quite regal about her - look at what she's playing now! So that always felt like they were the two cleverest people in space and time."
Capaldi himself echoed the showrunner's comments: "The relationship with Bill is a whole different thing, a whole different dynamic that is unfolding."
-And talking writers-
'Writer Toby Whithouse is back with what Steven describes as a “BRILLIANT” episode. Whithouse has already written six episodes for Doctor Who, going back to 2006’s School Reunion and most recently with 2015’s Under The Lake / Before The Flood
Another returning writer for Doctor Who Series 10 is Jamie Mathieson, who has penned three episodes so far. Steven enthuses about his latest work:
“Just watching a stunt/effects scene from the new Jamie Mathieson episode. Oh, this is a stormer of an episode! Remember when Jamie first burst onto the scene a couple of years ago? Mummy on the Orient Express and Flatline? There was a new sheriff in town! ? And here’s something to get you excited – his new one is his BEST one.
It’s scary, and funny, has awesome monsters, and a savage line in satire. I love it – can you tell? It’s like the best of ‘old’ Doctor Who meeting the best of ‘new’ Doctor Who, and going on a lovely date, with snogging.”
Steven also discusses The Eaters of Light written by Rona Munro, the writer behind the final story of the classic era, Survival. Moffat states:
“To be honest, I was nervous of approaching her for Doctor Who, because I was fairly sure she thought I was an idiot.
You’re going to love this story, though. Again, it’s old meets new. And it’s warm and wise and lyrical and Scottish”
Directing both these episodes is Charles Palmer - who last worked on Doctor Who for the Tenth Doctor episodes, Smith and Jones, The Shakespeare Code, and Human Nature / The Family of Blood.
As previously revealed, returning writers include Sarah Dollard (Face The Raven), Frank Cottrell-Boyce (In The Forest Of The Night) whilst new writer Mike Bartlett, known for the the BBC One drama Doctor Foster (which stars Suranne Jones from The Doctor’s Wife), joins the world of Doctor Who.'- Doctor Who tv }}}

'Matt Lucas chats to DWM in a rare and exclusive interview
Some people say, ‘I quite liked Nardole, but why does he need to come back?’ Well, there is an answer. I can’t tell you why he needs to come back, but I can tell you

- Spoiler:
- that he does need to come back. There’s a job that needs to be done, and it’s not a job that the Doctor can do on his own. Nardole is there to help him. It’ll all become clear.'

Re: All New Who
{{At least give him a chance Figg! And Id've thought you'd be pleased at news so far- a xmas special with the most common attached adjective to it so far being 'magical' and a new series thats back to basics of ordinary person off having fun adventures with a slightly mad and eccentric man from space.
Really liked this vid, good choices of dialogue and music thats fitting and serves a purpose}}

Can only hope it's true.
