His first example made me think he was heading down the road of poppycock because Gandalf clearly said Frodo spoke aloud in his sleep, but he solidified his position and made for an interesting video.

This really belongs in the Lord of the Rings section, but we've got nothing equivalent over there for videos; the whole section seems to be about the films.

In which Tolkien refers to himself as "a meticulous sort of bloke".

Though much of the way the reporter asked things rubbed me a bit the wrong way (it seems to be the interviewing style of the period) he did ask a very good question at the end and Tolkien gave a very good answer.

it's not just that, it's the "here's a clever question, but I already know the answer and I'm so clever to force him to articulate for the audience" tone of voice which is infuriating. It's that damn insinuating "I'll get you to answer my questions the way I want you to" tone of voice that makes me just want to smack him.

In Deep Geek is definitely the best of the analytical sites. GRRM may be the only one to ask what Aragorn's tax policy was (thus demonstrating why he's a leading author), but IDG is the only site to take up the challenge of answering it.

In this video he shows how close to failure the fellowship was even before it started. In fact so close it sort of strains credibility, but the constant threat of failure is what makes it a good story.

I'm days past even the most conservative minded isolation time. But even if isolating you gotta work, though I had problems with that for a few days. If this showed up a week ago it would have been perfect timing.
