Not a fan of how these Ai programs work, its basically just stealing art- they hunt the internet for images to match the description then blend them together into a single image- its clever but its not art or creative and there are big question marks over artists rights. }}

Yeah it's pretty dystopian. But tech will steam on ahead, regardless of anything or anyone.

It seems to be the same tangle of rights that should eventually give us the War of the Rohirrim, so appendix material. There's a lot to mine there, but a lot for writers to fill in as well. My worry is that since the Tolkien Estate didn't spank Amazon for messing around with the second age as much as they did, WB is basically free to do the same thing. Without a tight tether no good will come of this. But I held out hope as long as I could with RoP, and will do so again.
