Yeah, it is a bit of a left field dream at points. But i think i can forgive it that on the whole.
And to be honest i think I'd prefer living in a world were the President of the United States making those kind of speeches would be perfectly normal.

Re: Television programmes [2]
Only two episodes in and season 2 of Fargo is shaping up really well. Very impressive television from the performances, the script, the music. The musical score had an interesting throw-back to the opening of Mahler's Symphony no. 2 in one scene.
The suspense in each episode is great; and if season 1 is any indication, the build to the finale is going to be spectacular. I'd recommend anyone not watching this to climb on board. Season 1 is only ten episodes, IIRC.

Re: Television programmes [2]
I tried watching the first episode last week. Couldn't really get into it but I might give it another try sometime.
Re: Television programmes [2]
Yeah, me neither. Didn't really strike me as anything special. And if anything a bit too GoT influenced in certain elements. A bit disappointing, really. The BBC have been behind a couple of really good shows lately.

Ash vs. Evil Dead first episode was quite the hoot. Lots of fun, and glad they kept the tone of the original films. Looking forward to the rest of the season.
It's amazing how Bruce Campbell just slips back into this character after nearly 30 years.

Didn't know you were a MSTie Raddy.
Not sure how I feel about a new host and a new mad. I'd love to see Trace and Joel step back into the roles. Sadly that's not going to happen.
I've been trying to decide how much to contribute. Think I might wait for the reveal of the new actors and voice talents. The $200 dollar level would be ideal so I could have the blu-ray. But, personally that seems like a lot. Until we get any further news I'm sitting on my wallet.

Hmm Rumors floating around that some guy named Jonah Ray will be the new host. No clue who that is.

Re: Television programmes [2]
I don't think I'll pitch in more than $10. The one I'd miss the most is Kevin Murphy, I think. It's weird to think of anyone else doing Tom Servo's voice.
Never heard of that guy either, btw

This, of course, is all coming about because that stick in the mud Jim Mallon decided it was finally time for someone to pry ($$$) MST3k from his cold, dead, irrelevant hands.

No they've been streaming it on youtube the past two years. And it will be the same this year.
Here are the host segments from two years ago.

Rewatched the excellent Robin of Sherwood two parter The Swords of Wayland.
Like Who this was Saturday night family entertainment- and like Who it constantly ran the wrath of the Mary Whitehouse brigade for violence, subject matter ect- of course as a geeky Tolkien loving, D&D playing 14 year old this was pure gold to me at the time- but it holds up very well despite some ropey performances here and there and a liking for filters (the pre computer sort where they put just physically put a filter over the camera lens). However many of the cast are superb and went onto greater things (Ray Winstone among them) and the sets and locations are excellent.
(Also this is the first version of the legend to include the Saracen character as one of the Merry Men, as far as I know)
Anyway here's a trailer-
