Re: All things sporting [3]
Congratulations Wales!
I agree with Lance. Portugal have not looked to be on their A game so far this tournament.

I have bought myself a Welsh flag on Amazon for £5. I hope it arrives before the next match against whoever the hell it is. I am half Welsh so its not too ridiculous and I DO like dragons.

Re: All things sporting [3]
That was some shocking stuff! Not sure I have ever seen a shoot out that bad before.
Re: All things sporting [3]
Sad to see Wales go out now, but they were clearly outplayed. Congrats to Portugal.
Re: All things sporting [3]
Portugal haven't even lead a fusking game the whole damn turnament before this semi-final. Least desrved finals spot in fuskin history.

Re: All things sporting [3]
They lucked out massivley. It's a shame for the turnament, because they don't deserve to be there.

Re: All things sporting [3]
{{{Well I was supporting Wales, but Portugal were the better team tonight, their passing was crisper, there first touch was better and of course they scored two goals- but I never felt they moved much out of first gear for most of it- a rather dull semi-final in the end, sadly}}}

Re: All things sporting [3]
I imagine that the winner of France-Germany, whoever it is, will win the Final fairly handily. That side of the bracket was just so loaded.
Re: All things sporting [3]
France with that home field advantage. I hadn't caught many of their matches so far but they played extremely well of course, especially Griezmann.
Re: All things sporting [3]
{{Germany were solid, they always are, but they lack a real playmaker in the midfield and goal scorer.
France on the other hand have Griezmann as you say, and he is a natural box predator and they had a lot more invention in the midfield going forward. That was the difference tonight.
Germany didn't really organise and start looking hungry enough for goal until they were 2 down and the clock was running out. }}}

Re: All things sporting [3]
I went looking for the Andy Murray O Meter but apparently it closed up shop.
Re: All things sporting [3]
Not a thrilling Final but Portugal ended up earning it. Rui Patrício should've been Man of the Match but Pepe was my number two so I can't complain too much about him winning that recognition.
Re: All things sporting [3]
Was actually quite a boring match. Luckily I had some pictures to post here at the same time.
France were the better team... they just didn't pit away their chances. Now where have I heard that before....?

As a moderate insectophobe all those moths (especially the one that landed on Ronaldo's face) were creeping me out.

Re: All things sporting [3]
You can see the Ravens' stadium from the Baltimore Convention Center, but their first game is a night one so Otakon will be over several hours before then. I'm more disappointed about the Orioles being out of town this weekend. I've watched games from the Baltimore Hilton (attached to the convention center) during down periods at previous cons.
Re: All things sporting [3]
Based on tonight the opening ceremony of Tokyo 2020 should be pretty fun.

The Japs sure can do things right.
My favorite was the "In your face, bitch!" ping-pong ball volley. So totally damn Japanese.
