The FOX Sports streaming site is such a piece of shit. All the more so in comparison to ESPN's (which has the Euros; FOX has the Copa America).

That said, the match against Argentina is going about as well as I'd hoped. Neutral

It's pretty nuts how stacked that side of the tournament is.

Portugal-Hungary was a goal-fest. Kinda wanted the Hungarians to win but oh well. Razz

{{{Normally I watch England play with the usual sporting Scottish mindset of hoping to see them lose- this is the first competition where I have just wanted someone to put them out their (and our) misery. So well done Iceland for putting a wounded animal out of its misery (and football fans out theirs).
I have no idea what Hodgson has been thinking this tournament, he doesn't even seem to know what his preferred starting 11 is or what formula, any formula to play in.

But hey England wanted out of Europe, now its out of it in all ways! Very Happy }}}

That was rough. My sympathies to the English. Congratulations to Iceland, though!

I don't expect them to beat France but I hope they'll be able to hold their own, at least. It's always cool seeing smaller nations go on deep runs.

I really don't get the Scottish thing with English sport. If the Scots were in I would be supporting them just as much as I have the other home nations... with the exception of when they play England.

Last night was a tactical nightmare. Hodgson didn't have a clue and therefore neither did the team (as they haven't most of the tournament). They should all be embarrassed.

{{Its mainly a wind up- the more it annoys the English the funnier it is. Another reason is English pundits and commentators- Englands arrogance, a national trait, is at its worst when it comes to the England football squad- hell you hadn't even kicked a ball in this tournament and the pundits were already speculating who you might meet in the final! And its the same every tournament- it lacks respect for the opposing team, and its just this natural assumption you are going to do really well, every time, all before a ball is kicked.
A good Scottish drinking game is every time someone mentions 1966 you have to drink.
The more you talk yourselves up, the funnier it is when something like this happens.

A good example- this was on my facebook feed right after last nights game-

All things sporting [3] - Page 15 13501700_1098639690195539_5264285597597104985_n_zpskgqscveq

Alongside a mock news report about thousands of mysteries deaths in Scotland, with people found sitting in front of their TV's with smiles on their faces and ruptured stomachs.

Personally I've been supporting Wales so far, and my mate has been supporting NI (him being a Celtic fan and all) }}}}

Sorry Figg- but Lance would get the same answer from any Scots person I'm afraid- its that assumption that just by entering a tournament England have pretty much already won it. Because, you know they are England they invented the game, 1966, three lions on a shirt ect Its the same attitude a section of the England support carry about with them and then they treat their hosts terribly and wreck the place and start fights.

But dont fear Figg England is not entirely alone in this- Scotland did try this arrogant presumptive mood once, Italy 78 in fact with Ally's Tartan Army- they even had a terrible arrogant song to go with them-

Obviously it didn't suit us nationally, we left the tournament pretty much on the same plane we flew in on. It did lead to a spectacular cloud of crabbit mind you. After that we went back to our old ways of assuming we wont be there long so best get as pissed as possible and have a really good time will it lasts and only wreck the place if its Wembley Nod }}}

Petty - I know any Scot would answer the same. I have some other Scottish friends who think the same.

Having said that, I don't know the last time I heard someone expect us to win anything. Speculate on where we could meet other rivals... Yes... but not expect to be there. I don't think there is anyone I know that thought we would get far. Quarters and then out. Possibly beat France if they had a bad game and we had a great game, but nobody thought we would get to the final.

Maybe I am a bit too left wing in my thinking with these things.

I don't know the last time I heard someone expect us to win anything.- Lance

{{{{I think the 'Anyone but England' thing is misunderstood in England. Its not the general English folk Lance- we just like to wind you lot up over it, thats more like joshing between friends, a bit of gentle piss-taking in the British manner- but I dont know anyone who says it with any real malice or intent in it- its just funny- and as English folk often take us at face value and treat it with deadly seriousness as if we mean it- that just makes it even more funny and encourages us to do it more.

No the arrogance thing mainly comes from having to listen to the English pundits before, halftime and after the game, not to mention the English press who get carried away every time and over-hype the England team. When England get kicked out a tournament, like just happened, we are not laughing at the team or the fans really, we are laughing at all those who predicted greatness, yet again, with no justification}}}}

Did you see the welsh team celebrating Englands loss. Hope Belgium pants em.

The Wales squad at Euro 2016 followed the Round of 16 clash between England and Iceland very closely, with the team seemingly unanimous in their rooting interests. And it wasn’t for their neighbors.

Once the final whistle blew, the Welsh players started celebrating as if they had won a trophy. Yelling, hugging, dancing, the whole nine. No champagne, sadly.

The team has caught some flak for their celebration after the video filtered out to the press.
