ooh they look so pretty There are grizzlies and cougars around here and last week we opened the door and there were twin fawns eating our grass. I prayed for them to go back the way they came so they wouldn't get run over by cars.
Az you and David seem at one with the bears, how about Beorn, yikes his head was as big as the dwarfs.

Re: Just...................whatever [4]
I just saw a large black bear on the back of my bog yesterday morning. He was eating the old cranberries that had floated up onto the bank over the winter, left over from last fall.
It's still a couple weeks before the first salmonberries are ripe (they're the first berries of the season), so until then the bears are making do with whatever they can find.

If you've got a 200 page book and you read 1 page, then you've read 0.5% of that book.

Re: Just...................whatever [4]
You know what 1% is, right? 0.5% is half of 1%.
Or to carry Ringdrotten's example further, 0.5% of a 100 page book is half a page.

0.5% of £4000 is 4000 x 0.005 = £20.

Re: Just...................whatever [4]
Whereas 5% of £4000 would equal £200

0.05% of 100 is 5.
50% of 100 is 50.
50% of 100 is 50.

oh ok thanks.
I asked the department and they said it means a 50% reduction on the fees. I wish they had just put that in the beginning.

I think you mean that 0.05 * 100 = 5%
0.05% of 100 is considerably less than 1.

You're quite right, that was what I meant. I hope I didn't confuse things further, mrs Figg!

In any event, I'm glad that the department was able to clarify things for you, Mrs Figg.
